Ya think?I think he is going to do it.
Ya think?I think he is going to do it.
We are still waiting for the focus groups to complete this morning.Ya think?
So many change.org on DjokovicJust as equally there is nothing scientific about a change.org petition, and they are as irrelevant as petitions to parliament.
Possibly the whole cabinet has suddenly booked last minutes flights to Hawaii! Two bad options for Morrison to choose between, no matter where the blame lies and not simple.
‘The law is the law’, if only they knew what it was themselves. Looking forward to seeing how they resolve it. Using this to get the children’s vaccine debacle off the front page isn’t quite working.
Thanks. Well he probably travelled twice (Belgrade to Spain) - photos of practice in Spain on 31/12 - (Spain to Dubai) - infamous 'I'm coming' post. This is the form that's been required due to COVID:
Department of Home Affairs Website
Home Affairs brings together Australia's federal law enforcement, national and transport security, criminal justice, emergency management, multicultural affairs, settlement services and immigration and border-related functions, working together to keep Australia safe.covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au
The cost of a certain recent Australian prosecution would be handy...Thanks. Well he probably travelled twice (Belgrade to Spain) - photos of practice in Spain on 31/12 - (Spain to Dubai) - infamous 'I'm coming' post.
I wonder how heavy a monetary penalty could be applied.
Monetary penalty is peanuts for him, time would be 12months, but the more dramatic outcome is that falsification should be grounds for instant deportation.Thanks. …. For most people….Monetary penalty is peanuts for him, time would be 12months, but the more dramatic outcome is that falsification should be grounds for instant deportation.
That was what I was hoping - but I doubt the legal penalties/fines chart goes that far.The cost of a certain recent Australian prosecution would be handy...
Yeah but we don't deport people for false and misleading statements on people's customs forms. Sometimes the punishment has to fit the crime.Monetary penalty is peanuts for him, time would be 12months, but the more dramatic outcome is that falsification should be grounds for instant deportation.

The ATD page spells it out directly:That was what I was hoping - but I doubt the legal penalties/fines chart goes that far.
A person who fails to comply with the requirement may be liable to a civil penalty (fine) of 30 penalty units (currently $6,660 AUD). This is set out in section 46 of the Biosecurity Act 2015.
Giving false or misleading information to the Australian Government is a serious offence. If convicted, the maximum penalty is imprisonment for 12 months.

Just becausec a few talking heads say there is a debacle doesn't mean there is one. There are 2.3 million 5-11 year olds. 3 million doses on hand and 2 million due in early February in plenty of time for the second dose. Even Blind Freddy wouldn't expect everyone to be vaccinated in the first week. Two bad options for Morrison to choose between, no matter where the blame lies and not simple.

So he keeps his visa, plays tennis, wins 21st GS (AO), then gets put into prison. OK that's going to work out well. The ATD page spells it out directly:
I was reading the document off the Twitter post you linked again and under the 14 day travel question, it said false and misleading is serious yada-yada, then talks about civil penalties, so it sounds like $6k only, and not imprisonment. The ATD page spells it out directly:
Thats what the form says, but the actual ATD page notes the imprisonment part in bold also: Australia Travel Declaration | COVID-19 and the borderI was reading the document off the Twitter post you linked again and under the 14 day travel question, it said false and misleading is serious yada-yada, then talks about civil penalties, so it sounds like $6k only, and not imprisonment.
Be that as it may I doubt a court (assuming conviction) will impose imprisonment for such a crime. Mostly likely use their judicial discretion which I assume they normally have.Thats what the form says, but the actual ATD page notes the imprisonment part in bold also: Australia Travel Declaration | COVID-19 and the border
