Finally targeted for something useful.

My offer

Take 1 survey: 500 pts
Stay at 2 brands: 2200 pts
Stay 2 Saturdays: 3300 pts
Stay 10 room nights: 56000 pts

105600 bonus points if all latches are unlocked.

Seems relatively easy and I may end up at Ozfest 2011 after all. ;)

There is HI and CP at Darwin. You can easily meet the 2 brands by just going to Ozfest

And a Saturday night! ;)

But have to find a few more cheap nights between now and then. Perhaps a rethink of my accommodation bookings in Thailand for a few of those nights.

Stay 10 room nights: 56000 pts
Is this correct, or is there a typo?;) Your overall offer is slightly more generous than mine but I'm not complaining. Apart from the 10 nights, the only other issue is squeezing a cheap IC stay in somewhere...

Maybe do what JohnK does, going to Thailand for cheap ICs ...

I put mine in the very possible category:

No offers because you have enough points already :lol::lol::lol:
Or in my case - No offers 'cause I haven't earnt any points as all. :p

Only ever had 1 stay (Last Saturday on a 5K points break).

(I was given 21K point on the HHonors "Biggest Loser Promo")

I hope you found the stay good value ;)

Mine are simple :D

Survey: 500 points.
30 Room nights: 5,600 points.
18 Properties: 10,000 points.
9 Saturdays: 5,000 points.

161,200 possible points.

Typo! It is 10 nights for 5600 points.

What was I thinking? Have you seen the room rates in Darwin for the Ozfest weekend? All 3 properties are $200+ per night.

I was looking last night what it would cost to earn 105,600 PC points, with current travel plans, and for 12 nights it is $2,500+. That is more than double on what I would want to spend for 12 nights accommodation.

I really cannot understand why accommodation needs to be that expensive in Australia.

Need to remember that you can buy 5000 PC points for USD$30...so in my case, I can buy 80000 PC pts for USD$480....need to keep this in mind before you rush out and book unnecessary hotel stays for this promo. If you are needing a hotel anyway, and switch to a PC hotel, that makes sense, but making unnecessary hotel stays doesn't really add up in my book....

What???? You mean I shouldn't fly 5000 km to get my hotel brands/nights count up, in order to earn a few points.

Anyway, the latch for my survey is now showing as unlocked! Now for the points to turn up in my account!

Survey latch unlocked.
Survey points posted.

Shame my next three tasks are a little more difficult....

Hmmm, with up to 31 May 2011 to get any of the other 3 latches, I might be able to crack 2 of them (2 Saturdays and 10 nights), but the 5 brands may get me (as the only time I'll get overseas will be 23 May 2011 and was hoping to have an award stay at the (London) Paddington Hilton for 4 nights...as I'm with my family, doubt I can do matress runs ;) )

I am not certain, although I have a suspicion, but I believe there are people out there who book hotel stays, check-in and then leave just for the bonus points.

What am I missing? I cannot imaging a situation where you would gain sufficient points in doing this.

In a place like the USA and Canada where hotel rates are very cheap it is possible to rack up ~15,000 PC points with all the promotions for a 1 night stay very cheaply. Some may do it for the points, some may do it for the status.

Yes I know it is possible to "purchase" 5,000 PC points for USD30 but how many times can people make cash + pay bookings and then cancel their booking?

You can do it as many times as you like, but these points do not count toward status.

So called "Mattress runs" work when you can get cheap nightly rates. Not really a viable proposition is this part of the world.
