I told you it was easy :!:I just realised that with the "biggest loser" and this promotion, along with a transfer of AMEX MR to PC for 15K towards a 25K booking (replacing a $330 booking) that I'll make Plat this year with a total of 2 award and 3 paid stays.
More to the point, the CTC bonus if 125K when I plan to earn it next year will give me another year at Platinum.
I told you it was easy :!:
Every now and then you get a nice surprise....booked an award stay using my PC account for my parents recently at the Crowne Plaza, Washington DC....they got upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite with executive lounge access. Too bad the lounge closed from Friday to Sunday evening which was 1/2 their stay:shock:....they did get 1/2 priced American breakfast instead which was not bad at $10 each.Mind you, there is a reason plat status doesn't really count for much in PC.
Yeah, it puts you at the front of the line. ..... and that achieves precisely nothing :!:Mind you, there is a reason plat status doesn't really count for much in PC.
Yep, I won't even need to get a status match.I told you it was easy :!:
I just love generic emails. I have not bothered to do anything since registering for this promotion.Crack the Case said:You're closing in on the first latch
KEEP IT UP!
We noticed you've been busy cracking the case, but success is measured in busted latches. Why not crack your first by taking a quick survey? The first latch will fall, and soon, the rest will follow.
Check out your status now to move forward with Crack the Case.
A points+pay reservation is treated as a "points" reservation isn't it - so wouldn't be valid for this promo?
My dilema is that I have the choice of:
15,000 point award.
10,000 points +$US30
5,000 + $60
or $A260 for a hotel booking ... Of course the points is the best offer!
have you looked at the rates for family and friends which do count to the CTC promo.
Yeah I have. $A160 or so. Seeing they don't earn points, it's no saving over 15000 points - and I do have plenty of points to burn. Have no problem meeting most of my qualification tasks, but the 18 hotels is still going to be difficult.
18 hotels would be close to impossible I would think! F&F rates have been known to earn points..
Not really, there are 10 in NSW, 6 in QLD, 5 in NT, 2 in SA, 4 in Vic, 4 in WA.

But is it really worth spending the amount of money you'd have to, for that amount of points?

Depends who is paying, I have no issues with visiting 18 hotels in Australia as part of my business travels, pity I got 5 brands, resulting in a JASA to PVG being planned , may was well do some TPE runs while I am in the neighbourhood.
If I meet my other targets, I may have to find some surrogates for one or two brands.
Maybe Flashware might like a free night at the HIX and Indigo under a different name, do they require a passport on checkin?
