Unsure which way to turn here. We got EK First (A class) flights MEL DXB LHR // CDG DXB SIN MEL coming up this Friday. We’ve got no status on EK at all, and don’t really care as we travel in business or first anyway. I’m thinking the better option may be to credit to Aeroplan instead of Skywards ( I’m not even thinking about QF earn, it’s pitiful on EK flight numbers). Interested in others thoughts…..

Aeroplan! You will earn at 100-150% of the underlying miles flown depending on ticket class. Aeroplan have relatively good availability with partner airlines like Singapore, their taxes and surcharges are among the lowest, and you can buy their miles during regular sales to top up. Oh and they offer stopovers for just 5K more, which also opens up far more availability.

Emirates is nice to fly, but their FFP Skywards is terrible for miles earn and burn. And their taxes and surcharges are almost as much as an outright fare with a different carrier.

Aeroplan! Aeroplan! Aeroplan! BTW, did I say Aeroplan? 😀

Thank you - I thought it was a no brainer, just wanted to make sure there wasn’t something I’d missed.
Cheers

The only reason I'd consider EK is that they do release a lot more awards to their own members and upgrades that are otherwise unavailable to partners. (You could have an empty premium cabin and they still won't release additional awards to partners but loads on their own program).

But if that's not part of the equation then yes Aeroplan.
