? Sorry that it inconvienced you? Very poor choice of words

I'm going to call your words as inappropriate. QFWP and all others on this forum who have posted about the sad and untimely death of Phillip Hughes have been extremely respectful.

I'm sorry you took that comment the wrong way, Fokker. It was merely a statement of fact.

What way was it intended? Did I take it the wrong way, or was it the wrong choice of words? I feel it lacked respect.

Perhaps 'due to the tragic death of...'?

I knew Phil, it's a tough time for many. It's importnant to be respectful in a public forum I feel.

I'm sure it wasn't intentional QFWP.

Puska you 'call me'? Nice.

Anyway im not up for an argument. I'm a cricket lover, going through a difficult time right now.

un·time·ly adj. 1. Occurring or done at an inappropriate time; inopportune.
2. Occurring too soon; premature: an untimely death.

I am sorry for your loss.

The anonymity of forums means that people do not know others "back story". And that applies to everyone posting here.

I think we've both taken disrespect where there was none intended.

There is no way QFWP would disrespect Phillip Hughes memory. He is a cricket tragic. And I am simply saying that your comment suggesting he was, is not appropriate.

It's cool mate, no dramas

Clarke - should retire he is to injury prone
Watson - has failed again, he should retire or had back his match payment

I was on my way home yesterday when this wicket fell:

89.2
Mohammed Shami to Haddin, OUT, there it is, India have ended the day on a high! Haddin was struggling around the off stump and this time the edge carries through to the keeper. Beautiful delivery, and that is what the new ball can do and then placing it in the right areas - on and around off stump with some late seam away
BJ Haddin c †Saha b Mohammed Shami 0 (7m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

That meant we finished at stumps 6/354. If Clarke can bat today with Steve Smith, the 450+ is looking achievable.

What an innings it has been from David Warner. You could see the emotion everytime he celebrated a landmark. Both he and Smith raised their bats at 63 not out. That's all we have for you today.

I'm hoping that Clarke gets to do the same thing today and if they reach 408 (total) that it won't be lost on the players.

Thank you Pushka - a very measured approach. Perfect discussion about the back story - as we were all unaware about Fokker's personal relationship with Phillip beforehand and I would think this has prompted their assertion that I was disrespecting Phillip. I can only reiterate it was not my intention. I can't imagine how it is to have known Phillip (I'd only met him briefly twice). As you said, my contribution in the "Off Topic" thread after the story broke goes some way to show my love of the game and my respect for him.

Great start.

The Indian batting looks weak and not likely to trouble our bowlers?

My prediction is Australia 4-0.

Nice to see he's out there:

10.40 am Right, as predicted, the umpires are making their way out now. It isn't quite as periwinkle blue as yesterday morning, but it's not too threatening either. And we have Michael Clarke out with Steven Smith to start proceedings! What a statement from the Australia captain!

As JohnK has commented, Smith & Clarke are in form this morning - only he first over hasn't had a 4 scored...and two in the 93rd over

Smith 86 and Clarke 74, but he might be "feeling" the injury still:

94.1
I Sharma to Clarke, 1 run, banged in short and he is heard groaning quite badly on the stump mic. Manages to pull it and though to deep square leg. Might warrant a short leg for him. He's in obvious pain. Took a long while to run for that single. Pain apparent on his face on the slow mos

It's going to be a long session for him...

Clarke just seems to be waiting for the bad ball and punishing. He's now 80 and Smith on 88. Who will reach their ton first?

It's a little threatening in Adelaide. Although I don't think time is an issue. Tomorrow would be a great day for swing bowlers - a bit of this, a bit of that, and an edge!

Yes, it is drizzling at the ground apparently:

11.26 am The umpires are calling for the covers now, are they? No, they just wanted to have a word with the groundsman. Clarke and Smith did look a touch bemused. It is drizzling, but not that badly

Aaron to Smith, no run, reverts back to a shortish length and Smith blocks to cover. And now the rain is coming down quite hard

Smith and Clarke smoking them ...Smith on 98 and Clarke on 85. 6/405... 408 approaches (Phillip Hughes Test number)

Seems they have gone off now:

That rain break should come in as welcome respite.

If it sweats under the covers then that may play into India's hand - if their bowlers can use it. Doesn't appear that they are playing well at present...

I presume Mr Pushka is at the match and would be loving it!!

Will they take lunch early, in the hope that the afternoon sessions yield cricket (and the ability to run the game over the normal stumps time by 30 mins and/or starting 30 mins early tomorrow)?
