I presume Mr Pushka is at the match and would be loving it!!

Sadly no, the change of dates means he can't get there. He was primed for Friday and his week of travel for work was based around the Opening Day on Friday. He does have his radio at the office with him though.

It's looking rather wet ahead.

12.05 pm News from Adelaide is that the umpires are out on the field, seemingly for an inspection. The covers are still on. The rain has lessened

12.10 pm Covers are coming off, and then they went on again which means the umpires have decided to call an early lunch. Play will resume at 1.00 pm after the break.
Looking hopeful for a re-start then. Thanks for the reminder about ABC Radio. Alas, hard to have it on in my office :(

The rain has stopped, the covers are off and the groundstaff are going around the outfield with a rope. #NothingCanStopTheCricket

I don't like the look of the radar for around 3pm though.

Has anyone else got a Sport Sync radio? I love how it lets me sync the tv & radio broadcasts and thus I can get rid of the Channel 9 commentary-I find the ABC guys are much easier to listen to.

One I have to look at seriously, thank you RB. Ch9 commentators set my teeth on edge.

Do you have the radio app for iphone? Tunein radio? I know our local FiveAA is transmitting as the broadcast is no longer just ABC and they have Henry Blofield for example. I think it is the 2UE network?

I have to agree with these comments on cricinfo:

1.00pm Oops, I hashtagged it too soon! A resumption of the rain has drawn the covers back

Joey: "This is one of the really frustrating things about cricket that the ICC needs to look at. We have the ridiculous situation of the players off the field for lunch when the ground is playable. On days like this when there are clearly going to be a number of rain delays, anytime the weather is clear and the ground is ready for play, just PLAY!"

I have to agree with these comments on cricinfo:

Ah, that's the unfathomable beauty of cricket. The rules make no sense. In what other sports do they take a "tea" break. With cups of hot tea. In the middle of a hot summer's day. And the scones are usually pretty damn good too! :p

Woah, there're back on!! Caught me on the hop :o

1.25 pm Good news, folks. Play about to begin in five minutes, and the session has been extended to 3.50 pm... Shortest five minutes ever actually.

First ball back:

101.5
Aaron to Smith, 2 runs, ton-up for Steven Smith as he tucks a simple delivery off his pads and clips it to deep square leg. Jogs away towards the '408' that's painted on the turf and raises his bat in tribute to Phillip Hughes. Big hug from Clarke, emotional scenes are Adelaide again as the crowd rises up in applause

102.1
KV Sharma to Clarke, 1 run, skips down the track and Clarke drives to mid-off to bring up the 408th run of Australia's innings. Fitting that Clarke scored it, wasn't it? Standing ovation around Adelaide

Clarke followed up by carving Sharma to the boundary twice. Now on 98 n.o. - should be a very emotional century

That's nice - hope we'll see the, both on TV later

A perfect example of the rules getting in the way of playing cricket, Pushka.

1.36 pm Another shower halts play and this time it's Michael Clarke who's on 98 as the players stride off. His family stands up in applause as are the rest of Adelaide, for him and Steven Smith as well

Looking at the BOM, they've got a narrow window of opportunity (for Pup to get his century) before play will be halted again and this time for a lot longer!! Pushka close to the money for 3pm (local)

I think the bar staff are happy with the rain delays ,weather is looking better so hopefully play can begin shortly.
Must say it is dangerous at the bar having the ability to use pay pass the only benefit is a few extra points on the credit card.

2.15 pm India haven't had much going their way today. Wonder if they might actually be happy with the rain right now.

"Run rate at 4.08. Coincidence or...?"
Just a mere co-incidence ;)...

Another interesting stat:
