Dhoni run out brilliantly. An improbable task just became close to impossible.
Nahh ... they'll just move the ropes in ...Trans-Tasman final ..... Aussies should win given that MCG is bigger ground than those Kiwi backyards ....

The Kiwi strength is their batting. Look at their history. Not one match played out of NZ. Tiny grounds. Maybe even a false sense of security to go for a slog and get caught short.

Many have quoted about "small grounds" in NZ being a factor, but I haven't seen anyone go to the data as yet and see how many that cleared the ropes in NZ would have fallen short in Aus.
The data must be available, but how widely and in what accessible form who knows?
When Guptill hits one over 100 meters, I think it'll clear the rope at every cricket ground in the world

We are referring to mis hits that go for 6 in NZ grounds but are catchable on grounds like the MCG...I think that the result of the pool match in Auckland on a small ground under NZ conditions is irrelevant to the Final on the MCG on Sunday...I would say that Aus go in as favorites, and NZ will need to play at its absolute best to win....That would be my point.
That would be my point.

It all comes down to one game. Anything can happen. Too close to call. The Kiwi strength is their batting. Look at their history. Not one match played out of NZ. Tiny grounds. Maybe even a false sense of security to go for a slog and get caught short.

I'm not sure it's the end of the world for many Aussies if NZ win it which probably shows what the relationship is like. Aussies will often support NZ in other sports (except rugby union of course) but for the Kiwis it's usually a case of "anyone but Australia". For us it's "anyone but England" (or South Africa in cricket). Kiwis are often surprised by the fact that we support them.
It would be nice for some of our guys to go out with a win if they are retiring soon (Haddin, possibly Clarke) but if NZ wins then good on them, they will deserve it.
