Wonderful photos - the mist/fog gives almost an ethereal look to the place and certainly not out of keeping. Waiting patiently for the next instalment.

The Gritti breakfast is delicious, not sure it's worth €53pp... wonder how many cough that up?

The displays at Murrano are a must and yes expensive but worth it - we had two decanter and glasses sets shipped back for our girls and so glad we did as something special.

How many people purchase a Chandelier on Holidays? ... Mamma Mia!

With a light fitting, glasses and bowls following us home - it's time to go!

What do they say? Happy wife, Happy Life

I understand that some of the glass touted as Murano is actually made in China though would expect that this is in the discount type stores.

This is what we were told at Ferro Lazzarini, where we bought our glass. They also didn't allow photographs in their display rooms, as apparently people rip off their designs.

Loving this - getting itchy feet again and envious that it's much cooler than Adelaide this summer - my wish for a northern hemisphere Christmas next year is firming up

Perfect day in Venice?

1. Take a ride on a Water taxi - tick

2. Buy some Murano Glass* - tick ... (* a few glasses, not a bloody glass chandelier)

3. Lunch of seafood / vino rosso - tick

.... what could possibly be #4 ????

Of course!!!

We did the train trip from Oslo to Bergen with an overnight in Flam and it was all quite spectacular. It was July when we did it, with snow still on the mountains, so I can't imagine how cold it will be now!

.

We're doing that train trip tomorrow, out of Bergen as a round trip.

Temperature range today -2/-8, but is was a beautiful clear sunny sky, forecast is the same tomorrow... fingers crossed.

I'll be doing that Norway in a Nutshell train trip on my Birthday this year, so will have my bday in OSL, and then on the train and finish the evening in Bergen. (Not stopping overnight this time). I'm going one way and then onto the Hurtigruten. Then, like you (I think I remember), will finish up in Tromso later.

Awesome photo of Bergen. Is that from Mount Floyen?

We wanted to head up there but unlike you we were getting cloudy skies and plenty of rain so we felt it'd probably be miserable up there and everything would be too foggy to see.

Totally enjoyed NIANS - big day at 10hrs (Bergen round trip), thoroughly worth every minute.

More details to come.

Yes. We took the funicular up, and walked down.

Had another ripper of a day today for NIANS tour - absolutely gorgeous!

We leave for Tromso in the morning ... promising forecast.
