I applied Wednesday night, still not text :S. Should I be worried or is it likely they've been hammered with applications?

It is slightly longer than usual (most people get next business day) but I wouldn't be too worries - they raised the bonus from 80 to 110k on Wednesday so I suspect they received a lot of applications that they are still working through.
Was there anything unusual about your application? (Large existing debts, only just met income threshold etc?)

Large credit card limits but no cc debt and very comfortably met the income minimum. Its the large credit card limits that has me worried. Is there any rule of thumb that people use for this? As in, you should only have limits of 1/5th of your Gross Income?

I think the banks prefer if our income is 1/5th of our limit.

Applied for the 110K pts offer; approval text in 30 hours. I don't hold any AMEX issued cards (only bank Amexs, which are definitely OK).

Theres no hard and fast rule. It depends on a lot of things- income, debt, limits, living expenses, living situation etc. I have my fingers crossed for you!

Dammit, applied last week with referral for 80k. Wish I had waited 1 more week for this offer. I wonder if They will give me 110k pts anyways?

I cannot confirm anything but there have been several reports of users who have the Plat Edge applying and still receiving the bonus points. YMMV.

There is a question on the forms asking if you've have current amex cards. Is it advised to tick it saying you do have a current card, if you do hold one?

Well I think they will know you already have a card somehow so I personally don't think lying about something they can (and probably will) check on is a very smart move!

I applied for the Velocity Amex for the missus. She's a supplementary for my Amex and was told on here not to tick the box for her as she is only supplementary. It's been more than 10 business days and still haven't been approved/denied yet...

Given that she's a supplementary holder, I think that's reasonable not to tick the box. My platinum Edge was in my name. She doesn't have an account with Amex personally and it wouldn't be on her credit file (I don't think) so seems like the logical thing to do.

Hope the approval comes through for her

My Mrs is a supplementary on my Amex Reserve. Ticked no for existing Amex cards. She got her approval in a couple of days (applied on weekend) and received her card on the Thursday.

I just had a quick look at my paperwork, and I didn't see the points earn on various categories of spending, did anyone get it?

My Mrs is a supplementary on my Amex Reserve. Ticked no for existing Amex cards. She got her approval in a couple of days (applied on weekend) and received her card on the Thursday.

We were in the process of moving/had moved when I applied. So I think it's getting caught up on proving her identity in regards to residential address.
