Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

Enjoyed the pancakes and breakfast salad on Friday. Havent managed to enjoy the all day menu since pre-covid, our flights are always in the AM.
I felt like the service in MEL had improved since our last visit, far more friendly and patient with the kids (including heading off Master TC as he tried to exit the lounge solo).

Kingfish sashimi from the SYD special menu. Light and delicious.

Korean chicken. Very tasty but one piece slightly overcooked. Pickled veg crisp and tasty.

Round 2 of sashimi even better.

With a splash of soy and paired with an Ardbeg or two.

I’ve gifted my friend a P1 lounge pass, and trying to link to his QF flight on 17/4 10am flight from Sydney. Surprisingly from the QFF app the only option is the Sydney business lounge but NOT the First lounge. Anyone had similar experience?

Do you think he could just walk up to the First lounge in the morning and show them the P1 pass on his app?

Thx

Likely by design, NSW school holidays start on 15 April and it's likely to be very busy on that weekend as a result they're probably limiting the number of passes that can be used in the F lounge (which is why you're not seeing it) but the cap for the business lounge hasn't been reached yet.

First pax, Chairman’s Lounge and Platinum Ones.
I'll be visiting next week. Maybe a first time visit to the roped off area despite flying F and P1 a number of times over the last year or so... maybe a subtle hint at the desk that I just head to the P1 area... 🤣

If not escorted there by a host just politely showing the attendant in the area my P1 card or boarding pass works for me.

Unfortunately on my most recent visit saw both a P1 and just a few minutes later a CL get quite stroppy with the poor attendant when she asked for confirmation of travel class or status. Then a couple who were later on my flight in F complain about waiting 5 minutes for their order to be taken. Embarrassing.

I made a point of thanking the attendant for looking after me so well (which she did!).

I presume just QF First?

On my last visit to the Sydney lounge we were flying BA First and were seated by an attendant in the 'general' section, so I presume the special seating and menu are only for those on QF metal?

I recall in LHR in the BA F lounge in departures as WP flying in Y, not being permitted into the " restaurant" but was served in another part of the lounge at a table with chairs. I wondered what the difference was? Different menu?

If in T5, flying in BA F gives you access to a different lounge - Concorde Room with full table service, and an extensive menu more equivalent to the QF F lounge menu/service. Whereas the standard First lounge has a very limited menu that you order from using a QR code.

I believe in T3 it's the same, except instead of separate lounge for F pax, it's just a dining room within the First lounge?

It was some time now but I rocked up to the Concorde Room not knowing where to go and got invited to go to the T5 F lounge instead. They said that a week previously I would have been allowed but Qantas and BA had parted company about that time. As I recall there was no QR code and we were served at our lounge chairs. We could have sat at a table in the restaurant. As my memory serves you are correct about the T3 F lounge. Now using EK flights and experiencing EK lounges which are generally much the same as the one at SYD INT, except for Dubai.

I suspect there was a typo and that was supposed to be ”no QF code” in the context of the former QF/BA partnership that parted ways when QF hitched up to EK.
I did mean no QR. But how does that work now? I recall that during Covid some Melbourne restaurants used a QR code to link to a menu from which you ordered, so limited staff contact.

Oh, QR code not QR coded flight…..😁.

But I do recall there still being a QR code to order food in the BA F Lounge a few months ago.
