Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

I am P1 and don’t get let in there when flying Emirates

Only when on QF

It could also be dependent on whether a carrier uses QF as their contracted lounge provider vs carriers whose pax have access via Oneworld or other partner agreements.

For example:
EK sends pax to their own lounge
BA sends pax to the The House
QR sends pax to the Air New Zealand lounge
MH sends pax to Plaza Premium
But I think AA proactively sends their F pax to QF First, and JL is likely to do the same once their F service returns to SYD in a couple of months.

It’s worth asking, for sure. I just go with the flow normally, so probably a good chance my experience isn’t typical

separately, something that does bug me (a bit) is how sticky the tables are in the dining area. Like, perished plastc type sticky (rather than from not being wiped). Managed to spill some champers trying to pick my glass up last time. :)

Sadly it's limited to 1 glass only per person.

I am sat in the P1 reserved area and asked for a top up and was told NO but I will walk past again in a minute and see if I can get one.

Is it in the decanter, or is it possibly a P1 only thing?

Its a decanter thing. I guess it's a nice thing from Qantas and well I could only imagine it being a free for all if it wasn't limited.

I think QF struggles with consistency when it comes to catering to P1s and those flying in F. Having visited the F lounge a dozen times since achieving P1, I have not seen a notable difference in service between P1, travelling in F and WP.

Not once have I been directed or invited to the roped off area despite flying F or being P1. I'm not particularly fussed about the roped off area but in instances like today where the main dining area is heaving, it would have been nice to be directed to the roped off area. I ended up asking the front desk whether it was possible to sit there. The special menu items are nice but not a sufficient differentiator.

On the topic of menus between CCR and QF F lounge, the ambiance and food options in the QF lounge are superior. Despite the furniture being worn in the QF lounge, CCR just feels dated. The only area where the CCR wins is the beverage menu. Obviously if the choice is between BAs First Lounge and the CCR, then CCR is the winner but between QF F lounge and CCR, I would opt for QF.

Are you still in the lounge now. I am sitting in the ropes in Area

Left earlier to do some window shopping.. otherwise I would have been more than happy to help you get another glass given that I'm not a big wine drinker! 😂
