Fettuccine with Ragu Bolognese. Now this was special. The pork and veal Bolognese was cooked with a smoked ham hock to produce a delicious, rich flavour. I paired this with the 2012 Petaluma Merlot. image.jpg

Breakfast prior to QF11 for me. 12 sleeps to go :D
But that will be the hitherto unknown winter menu. How can you sleep at night? (P.s. When you know what it looks like, please let me know- assuming they still
let you in to the Flounge after the MEL shenanigans) :)

Interesting about the poached snapper - I had it early in the autumn and it was loaded with flavour; had it last week and it was bland ... different chefs? Recipe change? I know not ...

We were in the lounge for lunch waiting for QF 1 on Monday and had an extremely disappointing meal. After placing our order and visiting the bathroom, the meal was in front of mr jojen when I returned . All this happened within 5 minutes. We had asked for the Cobia to be served first and then our fennel salad and snapper.

The snapper looked nothing like KPC was served. It was very overlooked and dry.

We still had not been served our wine or water at this time. Had to ask for cutlery and serviettes.

Staff seemed in in a rush to serve, but not follow through.

A very disappointing experience as far as food and service.

The only good part was the massage I managed to book when we arrived.

While this is the Sydney menu, from memory last week the food is the same in Melbourne (though market options probably differ). The wine list is not the same. No Heemskerk Pinot Noir in Melbourne

Ah yes, I didn't look closely enough. I will pick up a copy when I am there next week and post accordingly.

Current F Lounge Menu

I seem to always have breakfast meals. I guess vintage Moet at sunrise is still speshul.

Roll on 18 July. :p

Sorry if this is is already answered or well known, but will the winter menu start on 1 June or is there a lag? Am travelling this week and kind of hoping to get a new menu.

Thanks.

Going by this weeks reports it is possible the winter menu may have started ...

Was hoping to use the MEL F lounge this week for breakfast whilst flying to AKL on QF/EK codeshare leaving @ 7:10am however disappointed to find out from the website that the lounge only opens @ 6:15am giving little time for Breakfast.
Has anyone on the MEL-AKL EK flight had any success having Breakfast before boarding in the QF F lounge?
What is the EK lounge breakfast like, buffet?

In Melbourne at least, just advised the full transition to winter menu won't happen until Thursday the 4th. Some menu items have been switched already, but I can't tell. Was hoping for a new menu today but not to be. Still, could be worse! Managed to get last treatment before spa closed for the afternoon, both today and last week, so no complaints.

You could also be sitting amongst the Great Unwashed out in the terminal paying for things such as food and drink :p (yes I am envious, how could you tell?).

I've got a 6am flight tomorrow. I'll be happy with any menu as long as they can get me a bacon & egg sandwich before boarding.. Would be a shame to have to go to mcDonalds for my breakfast....
