Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

That's my friend's favourite wine (he drinks it very rarely saving it for very special occasions). It's the best wine Rockford produces and if you are a member that can buy it you can only get it in limited quantities. If he ever visits the FLounge and they have that he would love it (if a flight was delayed and he could sip on that it'd probably be the only time he wouldn't mind a flight delay).

Basket Case also available to the Hoi poloy ( sp.??) via a Buzz wine tour!

Hoi Polloi. Often misused as a description of the elite. Means "the many" or "majority". However its corruption in English has a more negative meaning: "the great unwashed" , the " peasant masses". Etc.
Not sure where that puts your description of Buzz wine tour participants.

Thanks to AFF, I'm sitting here in Sydney on my 4th glass of the Rockford Basket Press Shiraz!! I never knew we could ask for wines behind the counter until last week. My life will never be the same!! ðŸ

Very handy to know. Thanks for that

As RooFlyer is one of the elite (ie. Stonewaller), I think it's a description of the "peasant masses" (ie. me) being allowed to buy it ;)

Super impressed with Syd F lounge today. Got there with barely 30 mins to spare. The dining area had like 5 on the waiting list so I went straight to the counter, ordered and had the breakfast and coffee ready in less than 2 mins! Well done, QF.

Occasionally on specials via Qantas side earning wine alcohol business called [-]Epicure[/-] Qantas epiQure!

Fixed that for you. The real Epicure get rather upset with people stealing their name. that's why Qantas had to change the name from epiQure to Qantas epiQure, I imagine.

Oh, please let this be true and that I can have my Veuve on Friday... *prays*

Probably worth adding 2 caveats - my memory is rubbish, and taittinger is my favourite.
So I know I had something that wasn't taittinger and ISTR a yellow label.

FWIW, VC hasn't been on the menu in MEL in months. In May, it was PJ, Taittinger, and Mumm Rose IIRC. Personally, I usually go with the Taittinger. I'll be in MEL Friday; might go with the PJ to switch it up.

I like to get the full set on each visit. ;)

There will be a few of us in MEL Friday am for QF29. Come say hi if you are around.

It's a perfect starter to the day! I only cottoned onto this last year – my local cafe does good corn fritters so I never really thought to order them at the F lounge (not that they wouldn't be good, just that they're something I have any given weekend or weekday morning) – but man, they are so much better than the cafe does, they're now my regular F lounge breakfast. But I still miss the Hank's Triple Berry Jam on toast :(
