I had some QF First lounge S&P squid ~2008 that was rancid in the middle. I was a bit queasy after that. Until then I had been a fan of it - I have not eaten it since.Blasphemy! Strip this man of all admin privileges.
Arrived at the First lounge about 7:45 and the place is busy if not bursting.
The place reeked of battered fishyness and not in a good way as a pale miasma of steam/cooking gasses was erupting from the kitchen area, although it has cleared up a bit recently - sounds like they have turned the exhaust fans up.
Service has been attentive ...
No ... more likely they were pre-cooking a large batch of S'n'P Squid for the evening and the exhaust fans could not cope ...Too many WP flying Y?
I did move tables to the other side of the restaurant area, away for the kitchen aperture.

Mind you, Iggy's bread now listed alongside Brasserie - has Iggy's been on the menu before this?

But at least the champagne is back on the Menu
And the Delamotte!Just a pity the days of Bolly are long gone...
And the Delamotte!
Same here. I have the distinction of finishing the last glass from the last bottle in the MEL lounge a week after it had been removed from the menu.Delamotte was my favourite

I'll throw a spanner into the works and give a thumbs up for the Mumm Rose, considering I was 'encouraged' to sample the whole bottle on my last visit.
