Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

In the Sydney Flounge right now, still the old menu (and I also got tortured by the old safety video on the way over- “oups, I dropped my phone”...).

But both the eggs benny and the Pavlova gorgeously yummie as ever :p

Just about to leave to go to the lounge . Disappointed it is still the old menu

Ok so not exactly menu related but pls cut me some slack as most suitable thread to post I think - would the salt pinch bowls as used in QF SYD F Lounge cut the mustard in current environment?

(Nope not an alarmist - just a serious inquiry as to thoughts of others - I detest them at best of times)

They are supposed to be replaced with each setting. If you perceive that not to be the case then request it.

I've enquired about those previously and was told that they're supposed to be replaced every serve.
But the reason I asked was that salt on my table had obvious 'pinch' marks left behind by someone else.

Yeah right and the Easter Bunny brings you chocolate eggs every year!!!

Totally OT cause I am lazy - I am totally in love with SYD QF F Lounge for a reason totally not F & B oriented:

Just sitting right beside the board and hearing the ticking is so therapeutic - I was so devastated when MEL removed their main deps board in T2 - I have never gotten over it! 😁

So summer menu still applies in SYD F - apparently will change next week - the Ette had the squid and said it was very nice - I had the brisket which was dry, stringy and tasteless - and accompanied by bloody eggplant - OMG eggplant is rubbish. Booze was good though - certainly wouldn't write home about the food.

Had the brisket last week in MEL and it was the same, very disappointing. In fact I had three MEL visits in the last four weeks and not one was up to scratch food wise: dry brisket, tasteless duck, reactive not proactive service. The only decent item I had really was the bocconcini and tomatoes.

I generally like MEL because it's smaller and I usually am offered a spa treatment and use of the conference room on arrival. However I'm glad all my F visits for the remainder of 2020 are currently in SYD.

MEL still has one by the entrance to the spa/showers (it's pretty useless though). Did there used to be a larger one?

Completely OT, but curious to know :

Re : The spa - I was in the SYD F lounge the other day and I was flying Y. I asked at the door if there is any spa appointments available and I was told that there is at least 6 people before me in the waitlist. So that makes me 7th on the wait list

I think I'm right in my understanding that pax flying F get a call a day or two before their travel date to get their spa appointment booked. However, this is not the case when the pax is NOT flying F

Now, I'd like to know if there is anyway for pax NOT flying F to call the lounge and get a spa appointment booked beforehand?

Also, on a side note, although I was told that there were 6 pax before me in the wait list, I noticed that a lady who request for an appointment (& was told that she is in 8th in the wait list, after me) got called in for the spa appointment, when I wasn't and had to leave because my flight was boarding :(
