Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I used my method that was confirmed by a member on this thread - the idea came to me when Dan Murphy had $68 price in Sydney and $14 price in Melbourne for Rose Kentish Cabernet Shiraz 2014 in the last year clearance sale.

This time I purchased https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_MYSTERY413/under-wraps-geelong-chardonnay-2015 which is Austins & Co Ellyse that was loading into my cart but would not check out saying no stock. So I ordered it in SA and set up a SA Parcel Collect. Once I got notification, I contacted Au post and ask to redirect. He said there will be a redirect charge of $6 when I collect from my local Post office - please see the attached. The BWS just informed me that my purchase is packed and is waiting to be delivered - I suppose I will find out later today if they managed to deliver to their local Parcel Collect. - otherwise I suppose they will refund me.
DM's packages things nicely. BWS puts them in paper bags or unsecured boxes.

or as soon as the tracking number is in their system, when your delivery is "being prepared" or "on its way" - before the shipment is delivered - redirect it anywhere for free? :)

Honestly tho, I wonder if this is possible interstate.

I'm curious to see if this works, as it would allow anyone to order from basically any BWS store.

HI I seem to be able to redirect Vinomofo parcels (no need to anyway) but not Dan Murphy. I had to contact Au post who told me that is how Dan Murphy does it - they restrict the redirection, perhaps due to the licensing laws?

If you click on your link you will see "If your parcel is eligible for redirection" - apparently DM parcels are not. But can be done manually

This is probably one of the best deals so far IMHO

is the Clarendon Hills Brookman Clarendon Merlot 2012 it is a BLOODY good drop - this is from someone who never likes Merlot!
Please note - the description states Closure - Screw Cap, when I purchased it last year it was under cork and a mix of 2012 - 2014 vintages for me. Haven't tried 2014 as I am working my way thru 2012 and it was a cracker!

@olympicwiz You may not be aware that you can edit your previous posts. There's no need to make brand new posts.

I just noticed this posted on tWF

The 2012 Brookman Merlot is $9.90 at Dans, will take redbigot’s advice and leave it alone.

@redbigot 's post on tWF that I assume is being referred to:

There have been a lot of older CH wines being sold through various Woolies arms, Dan Murphy Secret Selections, 2013/2014 most recently. I don’t know of the provenance of these wines, but some of them are not in good condition and I and some of my subscribers have sent some back for refunds.

Yes I noticed before some of the reviews on DM site said that some of the wine was damaged/corked - so far all of mine 12 CH Shiraz 2014 that I have finished and 4 of the Merlot were great and cork was intact. Happy to take a punt for a tenner and will send it back if no good.
I would suggest to visually inspect the wines for any traces of spoilage, spilt wine on the label etc even though it is not a 100% method.

I would never expect to get a @redbigot endorsement for it given his "love" for wines under cork!

I'm still 50/50 if I should grab the St Henri 2014 for $80-82 😂
Friend of mine said they much preferred the Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz and Dan's has it for $60 online offer ATM.

I've been eyeing the Cullen Diana Madeline too, cheapest is around $130 which should make it $110 from First Choice.

I'm looking to buy all of these, just wondering if these prices are solid? I know we may see more discounts, but how much for the top end stuff?

20% cashback for cellarmasters at SB. I dont see any mention of exclusions. Is some Penfolds on site. With a littlebirdie $50 voucher would bring the Bin 28 2017 back to around $25? or around $24? with egift card. I used egift card the other week and CB was tracked.

What's a little birdie voucher?

I googled it. Would it arrive in time?

it is and does

I've heard Mike Press is good, any members got feedback? My brothers keen, but as mentioned trying to slow down my spending.
if you have AmEx, then hope you took advantage of their United Cellars offer to buy gift cards?

Just making a list of wines which may interest me down the track. I'm trying to collect 99pts wines.
99pts by whom?

these articles might be of interest

previously: Stonewall $46, Diana Madeline $70

Honestly I'm not a big drinker, I drink with my brother and he collects wine.

I like Pinots, Merlots and Cab Savs. I was going to enroll into a wine course to learn more in-depth about grape varieties.
assuming that you're in Adelaide:

A word of warning on the GWD Clarendon deal - someone posted on winefront (and he is a very knowledgable industry source) that these wines have been around the world and back.......
Seems a lot of clarendon hills on mkt these days and not all of it great. Tough times
