Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Ordered 6 2018 Mosswood best reds this morning. Have a birthday party to attend. Saw it rated at 99 this morning so it should be pretty good.
Most places only have 2017 so i went direct.

99pts for the 2018 CS, Impressive! Scored by whom?

I got another bottle of the 2013 (98RJ) from BWS down to $71 using current discount and cashback. Few days ago was via Cashrewards, today ShopBack.

That’s me! Hahaha - glad someone reads my reviews 😂

and yes great value drinking - you can’t get it for that price wholesale! (Unless you’re Dan’s and you order 70 pallets)
Just added a 6 pack to a Dan's order. Did the 2 hour delivery option and was delivered the 2014 vintage, which looks like its rated pretty similarly. Hopefully will try one in the next few days. First time i've done the 2 hour delivery option, wine bottles were cool to the touch and some other wine i ordered had been put into protected air filled bottle pouches to insulate them - impressive

When I visited in late 2020 I tried a barrel sample of the 2018. It was stunning at that stage already.

That was Ray Jordan I think in the West today @Daver6 for the new release of Mosswood.
Had to reload Moet and Veuve today as my bubbles supply in my wine fridge had been dwindling.

I'm in Metro Vic and could not get them on shipping nor DM outlets, I am guessing you live nearby a store with plenty of stock!

That is fantastic news. Waiting for my cases to be delivered. Hope it is 2014 vintage!

@chylee you can get them delivered to the parcel collect near the DM that has stock and then redirect them to parcel collect near you.
There is a method described in this thread

We are in Griffith, visited De Bortoli’s yesterday they have a huge bulk wine sale of all the export wines they can’t send overseas. Great prices !

I'm more interested in a HH97 than a JH95.
The kangas aren't doing too well at the moment.
Might be the year of the roo shoot.
JH95 is a score just about every wine gets however a couple of JH98'ers recently were absolutely magnificent. I personally start looking at JH96 if that was the deal breaker with no other reviews.

GWD have $40 off orders over $100. But needs to be a case.

I couldn't find anything! Perhaps one of the clarendon six packs (eg the 2010 mourvedre), but I already took one a few weeks back and the clarendon clearances do seem a bit suss...

Keen to hear your thoughts before I pull the trigger
I think you'll struggle to find a higher quality wine for 10 bucks! It's good.

Nice rounded dark fruits, very dry finish, medium to medium-high tannins and acidity, good mouthfeel. It's big for a Merlot, as can be expected for a warmer climate but its nicely interwoven and i'm interested to see how this develops with a few more years. I suspect some nice quality French oak has been used. We had a glass before heading out to dinner, and 3 hrs later am having another. Bottle now in the fridge until tomorrow, has improved with that breathe in the bottle.

Cork was in good condition and looks as though it could survive quite a few more years.
