Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

35% cash back at BWS via Shopback later today (4pm to 10pm) with a $25 cap. CODE: BIRTHDAY listed on the Shopback website, but it's not clear what this code gets you. Perhaps free delivery?

NOTE: Don't use gift cards as payment wont track accoring to Shopback's terms.
With their inflated RRP and lack of decent clearance items (Sydney metro), I cannot find any genuine bargain even with 35% cashback. :( Penfolds 389 $86 before cashback would've been nice but cashback excludes Penfolds. o_O

Imagine a hypothetical situation where there are a finite number of sale items. This is advertised to the public, causing masses flock to the store. However, upon arrival, none are available, as the stores' employees have "taken advantage of it".

Would this not be akin to false advertising? As from the perspective of the consumer, no stock was actually available to them.

The idea of employee perks should not interfere or diminish consumer experience. Any competent manager would not allow staff to clear a product that is in high demand, as it's just bad business practice.
I agree with your point.

Now, if the employe buy at customer price in reasonable quantity (as a customer, I was limited to 12 Leeuwin) I still find it fair that they get it first. If there are not enough stock then the fake advertising is not really the employees fault. The story mentioned earlier where the all stock were purchased by the employees (a total of 14 bottles I think) is telling me that the problem was not enough stock. Not that the employees bought everything.

Anyway, this Leeuwin deal was an official sale? I was under the impression that it was more a pricing error, no?

Re Leeuwin Estate Cab Sav - has anyone who ordered for the delivery ad their orders invoiced?

Mine is still showing as an open order even thought I got an email saying "Your order has been successfully processed."

I resigned to the idea that it would most likely be cancelled citing a pricing error.

I'm in the same boat. Holding out loose hope that it's because they are sending more stock out to the stores, but far more likely they got inundated with orders and its an admin backlog getting them cancelled and refunded.

Official sale, a LL sales manager told me they are ending the line so clearing stocks and will no longer sell the line. It is also an official sale in FC where they stock the same wine as I saw the same yellow $20 tag on shelf when I got them - in Vic.
LL and FC have likely runout now but Vintage cellars do have stock and not clearing as I called a VC up and they won't even match the price.

LL are useless in regards to to letting you know about an item not in stock. Many times I’ve had to ring their customer service number to chase an order as they don’t initiate contact. The people on the phone are usually quite helpful though

I contacted them this morning regarding my order and they were adamant that they are awaiting more stock and the order is not being refunded. Will see what happens.
