I wasn't aware online orders ever shipped from stores?

Don't they come from the central warehouse? Hence certain items (e.g. World Cup) are only available via online order with delivery.

The package which arrived for me today came from the Thornleigh (NSW) store. Aged items had the blue sticker over the original barcode.

Hardys 2014 instead of 2013

I would have had a problem if they'd supplied a different Meshach as they specifically advertised the 2008.

Got the Hardys 2014 as well.

Me too and quick delivery for our place in northern NSW. Much better then DM Connections that can take ages and arrive with a different courier. Worth it for that great Armagnac though.....

There's still plenty of great value wines out there. You just have to be patient and vigilant. Opportunities will come up and you need to jump as soon as you see them.

The best opportunity I had was to hear about a stash of aged Penfold that had been forgotten about in the basement of an old pub in rural NSW. A quick phone call and then 6 hours in the car saw me buy everything they had. They were happy to get rid of everything at once and I was happy to get some amazing bargains.

This was about 4 years ago and I remember getting aged RWT's (1990's) for under $40 and aged St Henri's (1990's again) for under $35.

Whilst there was some risk given I had no idea of the cellaring over the last few decades, it was worth the $1500 I shelled out for over 100 bottles.

Wow - that is a one off event, surely. I would have shelled out $1,600 to beat you to it! How did you hear about that?

You have to be patient and vigilant. Offers like this will come up. Keep your ear to the ground. 5 years ago I only had around 100 bottles.

Surprisingly it's not the only time I've heard of this type of situation occurring.

Just picked up some bargains from the local BWS who have 30% off all wine at the moment. Barwang 2011 Cab Sav came down to $7 each and 2013 & 14 McLaren Vale Shiraz Cleanskin #71 were $3.50 each. Suspect my local Coffs Harbour Plaza may have been clearing these lines but worth keeping an eye out for.

These clear outs happen all of the time. They are very much hit and miss. Mostly misses from my experiences.
