I just bought Cyril 2016 for $110 at First Choice after CB. Decent price.

Definitely not as good as that last deal you posted from CM.
I wasn't making a value judgement (incidentally I do agree that pound for pound it may have been better but depending on one's taste). Because you said it is too risky, I merely tried to get a point across that there is no more risk using cashback on this deal than on any other deal on CM.

Yeah, I didn't realise it was approved.

It's actually a solid deal, it's difficult to get most under $90-100.

It wasn't showing as in stock so worth a check at your locals just in case.
If it was at BWS, I was told they always keep a spare bottle outside the official count just in case. So whenever I came to collect my loot I was always offered one bottle extra

For the ballers out there looking for a wine to pair with their protein bars

Stack with Take30off and 20% cashback
And for the Penfolds haters out there …

I’m not Penfolds hater by any means but looking at this pack objectively, even after all discounts that brings the average to $70ish p/bottle it’s barely worth it, considering all the latest high end red sales and also taking into account that cashback might be declined.

70ish for St Henri, Mechach, John Riddoch or Rwt is a good deal in my book

Not sure about the other 2 wines

It’s not bad but not great IMO.

St Henry (2014) was available recently at FC for $59 after all discounts.
RWT (2018) was offered for $100 at BoozeBud after all discounts.
Meshach is massively overpriced to begin with, I’d say $70 is about the real value so it’s neither here nor there.
JR is definitely great value at $70ish :)
Now you have the other two wines:
Barossa Old Vine is $76 at Dan’s before any discounts.
Penley full price is $100 and gets discounted frequently on TWC and other sites.
Finally there is that big IF the cashback ever gets approved using unauthorised codes and getting Penfolds.
You do get free Pine Box though which is priceless :p

When was RWT $100? I could never get it down anywhere near that or else I would of bought it!

I do get what @boomy is saying, however to get those prices, all the stars need to be aligned to an absolute perfection (I never had 15% Amex even thought I do have Amex) and there is a lot of dicking around involved getting them one by one like herding cats.

At the end of the day (IMHO) it is a fantastic deal if you genuinely like most of the wines in the pack and highly likely to enjoy the rest based on your taste/palate.

It is a coughpy deal if you are prioritising the discount to the RRP over the wines qualities.

PS Cashback should track as the item is called "Luxury Reds Mix + Pine Box" ie no Penfolds are mentioned in the head title.

Firstly, @olympicwiz if you think it’s good value go for it and don’t listed to anyone because we all have different options but eventually you will be the one paying and drinking the wines :)

It is however important to understand that once cashback has been tracked correctly it doesn’t necessarily mean it will get approved. It’s a lottery. I had some approved while other denied when using unauthorised codes. When the extra discount is 5-10% no big deal but here it’s 20%.

Having said that I could be tempted to risk and go fo it myself a while back but in times when I can/could get other “luxury” reds such as Cape Mentelle, Clonakilla SV, Diana Madeline, Eileen Hardy, Jack Mann, Michael, Mount Mary, Moss Wood, St Henry and others for similar price or less and with zero risk I can’t see much value in that pack.

I think 30% TAKE30OFF - you get a discount right away - so there is no risk there. It is 20% Cashrewards cashback that may not be approved eventually just like with any other purchase there.

I have some older RWTs and St Henris and also I still have Barossa Old Vine from a previous deal that I posted so I am not buying it - I just thought it would be a great way for somebody who wants RWT and St Henri to get in.

Yes sorry, 20% is correct. I’ll amend my post. Less risk but still... Also don’t forget to use $500 GC for extra 5%, it’s actually allowed according to T&Cs.
