Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I am getting a $128 net..you did very well on this mystery 6

boom, the mystery six for $79.20 makes a great Christmas present......and santa even delivers it.

Wow, Wine Market updated the price before applying voucher to $25 each! :(
Lucky me that jumped on it earlier!

$14.66 ... :):):)

Not any more...switch and bait!!!

My joy was shortlived. My order is sitting there at $95.95 but will not go through. I have refreshed the page numerous times, re-entered all the details, cleared my cookies, refreshed the browser, etc. Still my order sits there unfilled without progressing. I open another WM page and search Barossa Secret Shiraz to find the reason, they have re-priced it at $25/bottle!
I have sent a scathing email of complaint.

Hers one for the lawyers....and I AM THE FIRST TO BRing this to winemakets attention.....this is a mixed west oz pack they have, with a big blue red circle advertising $10.75 a bottle. this is before the makeover discount.

my point is the fifth line below.......

The Best Of WA Reds!

The Bottom Line
  • Mixed case of Reds!
  • All Australian Wines!
  • Great Value for money - only $7/bottle!
  • Free Delivery!
The mix contains:

  • Byron & Harold Wheelabout Duncan's Patch Cabernet 2014 , 2 bottles - RRP$28.00
  • Madfish Grandstand Pinot Noir 2012 , 2 bottles - RRP$22.00
  • Xanadu Next of Kin Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, 2 bottles - RRP$17.99
  • Evans & Tate Metricup Road Cabernet Merlot 2012, 2 bottles - RRP$23.99
  • Ferngrove Frankland River Shiraz 2012, 2 bottles - RRP$20.00
  • Vinaceous Raconteur Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, 2 bottles - RRP$25.00
  • TOTAL 12 BOTTLES

yes, the line about $7 a bottle......hmmm hmmm.....I was spotting a deal here, $7 with 20per cent off nets in at $5.60 a bottle, We are talking Aldi pricing here for medium product. I don't think these are as good as the barossan sixers, but at $7 a bottle, pretty good. I pursued this with a lovely bloke who kindly said that its 10.75 a bot, but there is 20per cent off.....it didn't go anywhere further as I wasn't too pedantic, but he did say theres a clause in their statements somewhere that allows for this....he said it could have been an old typo from an old deal....a little slack in my opinion, but wheres the customer is always right bit....whatdya reckon ? $19.20 difference from 10.75 with 20off to 7 a bot net.... no big deal really as 10.75 less twenty is still good, but I will pass even though its worth it for having the label of the last bottle....fantastic monicker.....if it were me, I would given it to me and then rang up the computer techs and got them to wipe line five.........oh well, time to get into the garden..

now I am adding this as I have read about the hassles above with the filsell......I had an experience two years ago that was extremely well sorted. they had a hesketh thirsty dog cabernet and a hesketh dealer cabernet. they were both being sold for 7 a bottle, but the dog had pricing of about 25. I rang them and said the purchase wont go thru at 7 bucks a bottle. cut to the chase, they honoured it and I got a case for 7 bucks a bot.

Today is similar. What they should do if they can act so damn quickly is honour the person who brought up this error. Chris was my contact at winemarket and he did a great job, but its not his money. he should have sensed what I wanted and booted a goal for me. Like the above, who wants to waste precious time writing letters of discontent. Sure I love doing it but not always.

All the best for the cup. My tip is that number 13 I think, predica...something or rather. as you can tell, I don't really care but Ladbrokes did give me and a mate about 200 for free with their rugby union deal. joined up, put my own fifty on both teams to recover this 50 then put the 150 free at new Zealand over 10 - odds at 3.2......

That was like taking money from a baby and more importantly, a no loss, no brainer....

hope you can do the same sort of thing tomoz with a cash back running secnd, third etc...I am trying to work on that one....

I've had success in the past just calling. It seems that orders can get stuck when the underlying stock has changes made to it, and their system doesn't seem to be able to cope. Call center operator just checks to make sure their is stock and then does something that makes the order go through.

I ordered the Filsell this morning at $119.95 and was annoyed that I missed out on the voucher but looks like I got in before the bait & switch! Poor form on Winemarket's part.

I see the Wynn's has also increased in price to $27.95 - this morning at $24.95 - I got on at the lower price but really sneaky dealing by increasing the price - trying to keep the price near what it was after the 20% discount.

something tells me that you jumped on the filsell wozza. Is my intuition correct?

or tried to....I cant see it on winemarket

I really wanted to, and even put it in the shopping basket as soon as I saw the deal over the weekend (I knew it was a sensational offer that would go quick). But I restrained myself, sticking to my budget and not spending it because a good deal had come along.

It's a good habit to get into, otherwise I would be over buying for the sake of a good deal (which in the lead up to Christmas are going to be coming thick and fast from all our favourite wine merchants). Please do make a post to the Nice Wines thread when you are tucking into your ridiculous buys, and ensure you gloat a bit to me too to rub it in ...!!

This surreptitious behaviour from a Dan's subsidiary had me so angry that I took my razor out. I had to shave something and being Movember, I could hardly work on myself. The lovely deliverer of my children is at work so the Brazilian may have to be done professionally. Probably a better job. Then I glanced in the corner of the lounge room, and pounced, like a tigerrrrrr. Took me ages, I copped with the bite marks, the scratches but the result is transforming. I hope you agree affers, especially Danny murphy fans.Cat1.jpg

Nice to see you could work it out. Never pays to bottle-up these things.
Boy, I bet mrs beefarmer was glad she was at work!

Finally gave-in, in the absence of any email response and called them up. They honoured the original price $95.95 but of-course this means I will miss out the Pricepal discount. Never mind, a good price nonetheless.

Very well done. I also ironed out my issue with them and am looking forward to trying some w.a. Mollydooker wannabees. I have to say their website makes for interesting reading, and their marketing manager needs a round of applause for showing off their new wine to the folks in sunny Sydney. Prozacs comments about the cat tie in very nicely with the theme. I think you will see the analogy.

Extraordinary website, thanks for directing me beefarmer, but where are you buying the Mollydooker wines, I cannot find them on WM? Ohhhhh, is it a secret wine?

Vinaceous are the wannabees with their bottle design being not totally unique IMHO. Its part of the WM Best of WA Reds twelve pack , one that doesn't include the divorced Mrs Tom Cruise !

There was an offer a couple of years ago on another wine forum, I got Carnival of Love for $30. But nothing recently!

Yes this was with vinomofo. They also has the blue eyed boy shiraz from memory. Both of these were a couple of years ago from memory.
