Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

This is what I wrote (I’m no Sam Kim):
Ok, mine got delivered so I had to open one up. I’m not much good with the descriptive, but am quite happy with $17ish per bottle. It’s not as good value as the Rose Kentish that I got from Dan’s recently, but it has complexity, fruit forward with a bit of pepper on the nose. Bit of an earthy aftertaste that I’m not a fan of, but maybe with a few years it will improve. It’s got a diam 3 cork, and the “wax dip” is actually plastic.
—> of course the rest of the Rose Kentish wines I got were damaged ...
Thanks - I think you outdid Sam Kim there.
Given you paid $17, I can't be paying $20

I had to travel 20min from home to pick up my Dandelion Red Queen of Eden, and discovered the clearance section in Glen Waverley Dan’s has everything at 50% off. Was happy with this selection - Dan’s in Brighton doesn’t even have a clearance section.

Had the BDX before? I've picked up a sixer from Dan's unwrapped at $12.50 a pop. Love the winery so took the 'plunge'

Was it 2014?
yup. Interesting though, it’s not a very fancy bottle for an expensive wine, but both back labels have what looks like spilled glue on them, it wasn’t until I looked closer and saw they are both identical that I think it’s deliberate.

I suppose there is only one way to know what it’s really like! Might take a punt myself too.

I love Winestar, have shopped with them for years, but this result of a push email re a mystery wine this morning made me laugh... why buy good ole Curtis Martins 2016 for $32.99 down from '$150' from the main Winestar range, when you can get it as a last chance once in a lifetime roll up roll up mystery bottle for the incredible price of $34.99? Mystery pricing it sure is!

Shottesbrooke Punch Reserve McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon

Rrp60 down to 10 bucks. Shows as available to add to cart but not available to deliver to me in WA. Maybe people in other states will have better luck, should be a nice wine for 10 bucks
It was available for quite a while, but one of the reviews turned me off.

If available to you, good wine!

What about the 2017 CabSav same brand, 95 points @ $9 ea. Won't deliver locally and I'm not keen enough to chase around with re-direction etc. Vivino 4.1, but scanty reviews, been caught out with that before. Wine searcher has 2018 at $45 ea from producer - https://www.wine-searcher.com/find/...ingle+cab+sauv+barossa+valley+south+australia
I thought it is a different brand. I purchased Bethany Grenache last year from Dan in the same sale. Was ok for $9 but nothing to write home about. Earlier this year I bought Bethany flagship shiraz from VM and had to send it back. No more Bethany for moi.
