Platinum is $150 at Dan Murphys, I think even at BWS clearance it was around $95

I'd say it's pretty good value, without having to try use Cashbacks etc

I drank one of these Monday, it's not bad!
Was $70 in last yrs EoFY crazy bargains... cheapest I have seen forever. Even pricing it reasonably, it seems an ok deal but not amazing given how cheap grey label gets

Housing was 10-15% cheaper last year too 😂

If anything, last year was a freak year and people should not expect any prices to be like that. 2017 was a weaker year for wine, I find more 2018 is rated much higher too.

Wasn't it a price error on Dan Murphys last year?

Last year it was Vintage Cellars sale which DM price matched. Can't see why last year should be worse conditions for Aussie wineries than this yr. Maybe I'm thick or wishful. Hopefully I'm just being impatient and we'll be hit by a wave of discounts in the next two wks!

Am I missing something or is this a decent deal?
Looks like a good deal. Any feedback on the

Yes, our fav pricing error man at Dan's was on the job.

Because it's given wineries 12 months to allocate wines to various other international markets.

Do you think they've been sitting on their hands? That's my view, but maybe their still struggling.

I don't think it is to do with the supply side of economics - it is this maddening consumer spending that would mean no EOFY bargains - all these govt handouts, the wealth effect, next to zero interest rates and BNPL credit are driving the discretionary consumer spending. It will end up in tears. But for now - take it or leave it is the retail attitude.

I know that all the major liquor retailers are doing really well (Endeavour, Coles Liquor) with sales at least doubling pre-covid times. It is really the smaller independent wineries that focused on exporting that are hurting

Very different wines Grey and Plat. $70 is cheap! Best I saw was $84 at VC or $80 at one of my local bottle shops.

2017 was a weaker year for wine, I find more 2018 is rated much higher too.

Is that a general statement or does it refer to a particular wine / region? If it’s the former I’ll have to disagree.

Simply basing it on 20-30 wines I look for, the 2018 vintage has higher ratings from Critics.

Just a general statement, I am sure some 2017 vintages were rated higher but 90% of wines I look at the 2018 are rated higher. That's simple going by Critics ratings.

Liquorland 20% cb via Shopback
Stack with $10 off $100
Ends 6pm
Anything worth checking?

I spose if I buy all this VM wine, I'll have to be a little picky.

Just noticed Penfolds 389 $75 2017/2018

I already have 2017, $150 - $10 = $140 - 20% CB. I assume it's capped? Im yet to check. $120 for 2.

Otherwise Penfolds Bin 8 is on sale for $30
No idea if that's a good price.
That’s the two I went for. The $10 off didn’t get me in, but the extra 20% shopback got me over the line. First penfolds purchase for a long time

The special pricing for 389 looks to be limited to South Australia :(

Ordered Alkoomi Alkoomi Charlottes Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 for $75 on 11/06, now DM refund it due to insufficient stock.
Looks like they have the Alkoomi Blackbutt as an Under Wraps for $30 (can’t post a link atm,
seem to be issues with the website again)
