Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Hi all apologies, I know this might not be the right place, but I would love your input.
My 130 bottle wine fridge has passed away today, and I am looking for recommendations. I am not in a financial position to blow 4K on a Vintec, so I was wondering if you might have any alternative recommendations?

Thanks.
Here is the thread. How do you store your wine [+ Fridge/Cabinet recommendations]

Recently I bought Euro Wine Cooler 450L E430WSCS1 It's ok for the price.

Finewineco mystery packs

Big bold ShirazWho Am I? My name comes from surfers slang in the 60's. I am big, bold and call the beloved Barossa Valley home. I am deep brooding purple to black in colour and am 14.4% ABV

The palate is rich, powerful and penetrating. The wine sling-shots a mouthful of flavour across your tongue and you are left with many succulent layers of spicy and dark fruit that flow. It is holding plenty in reserve and the tannins are fruitful but with a nervy persistence. This really has a strong core but comes across in waves and there is an evenness in this wine and it really is quite a ride. There is so much here to like and this will age brilliantly for the long haul. It's just so well balanced as a young wine from a great vintage.

RRP: $372 | FWC PRICE: $220

Pinot

Who Am I? I grew up in the Adelaide Hills. My name comes from a popular board game. On the palate I explode with black cherry and smell of cherry cola. I have also been told I go well with Peking Duck.

Aromas of cherry cola, rose petals and spice erupt from the glass. On the palate, the wine reveals a berry fruit explosion of black cherry and cranberry, with touches of balsamic and earth tones. The dry, savory long finish indicates that this is a food wine, and one which would pair marvelously with Peking Duck from Chinatown.

RRP: $252 | FWC PRICE: $145

Two Hands Gnarly Dudes Shiraz I'd imagine for the first one.

Pinot is the El Desperado from The Pawn Wine Co. Have you got a link to the deal? I might give it a go.

I had a booster in my SB app for $5 if I spent $50 at boozebud by June
Combined with $35.99 tracked for the purchase - will work out at $58.99 for a bottle of 2019 bin 389 delivered.
You can regularly get it through LL, FC close to $60-$65.

It's much more difficult to get St Henri under $90-$100 I've found.
Saying that, it's $135 elsewhere.

I guess if FC do 30% CB + $10 off $100 spend it would be close.
$95

Basically they all end up around the same 🤣

$90 is a good price, if I can be bothered signing up for Boozebud+

I'm not experienced across multiple vintages but I have preferred 389 to St Henri previously so ordered a 2017

Yeah, I have 3x 389 2017 and 2x 389 2018.

St Henri 2018 is rated well, 99 points from a few critic's.
99 Points - Andrew Caillard MW
99 Points - Ken Gargett - World of Fine Wine Magazine
99 Points - Nick Stock, JamesSuckling.com

I collect 99/100 point wines.

I want to grab 2-3 bottles of it minimum, plus it cellars for 30+ years.

I try avoid spending this much on a single wine bottle, but prices seem to increase every year.

Down the future, I probably won't be able to buy them if that keeps happening.

In the "earn more" section of the shopback app there is a challenge spend $50 get another $5 cashback for Boozebud
I tend to find such shopbacks best for non wine purchases e.g. spirits, beer and ginger beer.

The wines they have on offer, as discussed above, can often be found at or better rates anyway.

The spirits and beers generally not on sale for such discounts
- Prohibition gins <$60
- Brookvale Union Ginger Beer $50
- Glenmorangie 18 $125
- Bentspoke crankshaft ~$55
and so on

And I can't find anything that said the $40 is limited per person, just per sale. So if have the free delivery set up can keep hitting hit...

I don't think that's how it works.

It normally will say uncapped, which means multiple orders.

You can do multiple orders, but it's capped at $40
