Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I also think it's the Maverick. Came to the same conclusion yesterday and ordered 6. Never tried this one before but very impressed with previous Maverick Twin series wines on Vinomofo.

Should alos have mentioned that CLOUD100 worked with the order for 20% off.

I always remember back in the early '80's Len Evans waxing lyrical about working out how many days of living you reckon you had left in you and suggesting that you should not waste one of them drinking a 2nd rate wine. He said you should stock your cellar with good wine, then drink it.

No. Have had both the order processed and order picked emails so seems to be all good..

I did and didn't work for me. It worked for that 09 deal, then I realised I ought to go through PricePal, and when I logged in I had two 6 packs, and they wouldn't let me drop one. When I eventually got my shopping basket down to one pack, the code was not working and it wanted me to pay $169 for the pack. They ran out pretty quickly after that. Oh well - it wasn't meant to be for me.

wozza...that Riesling 6 pack for 69 is great buying just in case you need to spend some of the christmas loot you received. I dunno whether it still exists but three of them should be enough to cover the cost. Now,as I type, I am enjoying a very relaxed sunday afternoon, no one home just me and jack. and johny. seriously, just opened my second bottle - the other one at lunch two weeks ago - of Belgravia 2011 gewurztraiminer thru grays. I paid $19 a case and I have to say it's very good. I think I will be drinking some in a decade due to the crisp acidity here, but by itself, two glasses in, this is I think my bargain of 2015. As the week for some folks starts today, I will be seeing you next week.....can you believe it, how fast has that come around.

Chockers, packed to the rafters, full as a fat persons undies. Manly I see, a stunning place for a holiday in Sydney. We stayed there last time on the right hand side of the ferry terminal as you approach. Magnificent spot there Prozac, there are plenty of Sarah Tonins walking around to make anyone feel good. Now, you are a short ferry ride away from next Wednesdays 6.30pm dinner , yum cha at pitt st's sky phoenix where some good fun will be had by everyone who till that day knows no one.

Back to the wine. I too have been trying to get another 6 pack of Rieslings but no code works for me. Second time around anyway. For what it's worth, I think the Tanunda wines are extremely mediocre. See if you can find some Fox Gordon Chardy for under $12 and you will much more impressed. Similarly, you could take a punt on something on Grays with good reviews.

We've been drinking the Fox Gordons, I think off your recommendation originally. :)
The dinner sounds great and I am keen to meet others. Unfortunately I am having some electrical work done that day and would feel more comfortable if it were closer to Manly sur la Mer.

This from United Cellars this morning - United Cellars Selection 'Shiraz By Yangarra Estate' 2014 - Basket pressed... RRP $20.00 down to $17.99 for 24 bottles. This has been made specifically for United Cellars but I would imagine it to be close to or relabelled stock as it has the winemakers name on it.

UNITED CELLARS SELECTION 'SHIRAZ BY YANGARRA ESTATE' 2014
2 cases are too many for me but I would consider a split order with someone local. Any takers? Where's andye? ;)

edit: Turns out some of the grapes are from a nearby winery, Higginbotham. Winemaker collaboration of Pete Fraser and Charlie Seppelt

Afraid I was over my 2015 wine budget and need to restrain myself for a while.:(

Lol. Pity andye, this one looks a cracker. ;)
I have ordered 2 cases if you change your mind. Happy to part with 6 or 12 bottles.

edit: Some background, this wine apparently is a marketing tool at a reasonable entry price to stir interest in the brand with their wines generally at much higher price point.

The Parker 2013 Cab-Merlot for $99 delivered though WineMarket today sounds a very good deal. Has anyone tried it?

I haven't. I suspect it's not on par with their straight varietals. Not reviewed by Halliday since 2010; only got 88 points then; never did better than 91 points. Vivino 3.3 stars.

It's a much better price than the last time WineMarket offered on it though; I think they wanted about $12.50 per bottle then. Suspect it might be an alright quaffer at the new price if you go into it with realistic expectations.
