I finished my glass and tipped the rest down the sink. Palate cleanser for myself and the sink was absolutely needed. I felt like the 'bouquet' was haunting me after it seemed to be repeating on the sink. Anyway, I'll attempt to return the remaining like I assume a lot of buyers will. If anyone enjoys it I'll be happy to know.Drat. 12 is so many bottles of bad wine!! I was hope HH just had a bad mouth day... seems not
One of the reasons why i don’t purchase from the wine collective.I finished my glass and tipped the rest down the sink. Palate cleanser for myself and the sink was absolutely needed. Worst glass of wine I've drunk for a few years.
Apologies if I have misled on this one. I did try to warn on TWC's horrible misquoting of the critics. One of the reasons why i don’t purchase from the wine collective.
I've never seen a wine that was overtly "green" from under-ripe fruit/stalks when young lose that character with age. Some do mellow/soften a little, but the green is always still there. Then again I've bought very few like that when young and have not tasted too many more with age that were like that when tasted young. But I don't think I have ever tasted a green one young/old that contradicts that impression. Green tea, green food Ok, green (red) wine not OK.Apologies if I have misled on this one. I did try to warn on TWC's horrible misquoting of the critics.
I hoped that some of the overt green character has softened with age. Sounds like it has gone the opposite way...
Not your fault man, and this is a no blame environment... it seemed like a decent idea and I even did some rudimentary checking of my own! Nothing ventured and all that.Apologies if I have misled on this one. I did try to warn on TWC's horrible misquoting of the critics.

Pls let us know how you go with return. The TWC returns policy seeks to exclude mystery wines all over, even if you pay the postage back. But you can say there'll be a collective boycott from this forum if they don't do the right thing after talking this one up so much! Oh hang on, I haven't even tried it, but I still figure you can say that on my behalf.I finished my glass and tipped the rest down the sink. I've successfully returned a Mystery wine for a refund (the first one tried was badly oxidised due to poor cork seal). I don't think they can legally exclude mystery wines that they recommend and sell if they are different to the description, or faulty due to taint, oxidation or in an accepted sense of not being drinkable for most people.Pls let us know how you go with return. Do not mention these forums, unless you want employees watching over them. They'll make it even more difficult for us to work out what wines are, when codes are available etcPls let us know how you go with return. Far from a bargain - but some solid buying on Majella through their website today 20% off.
My picks - '19 Cab is a no brainer. Their sparkling shiraz is delicious. I had a ? 2010 merlot they had on tasting in July, curious enough to go in for 6 to put down for 10 and see how it goes. Also have cases of '15 CS for 31$ a pop.
Nah, they don't care if it's easy to work out the mystery wines, it's all a game, they want to sell more wine, only the lazy buy a mystery wine without being fairly sure what it is, except maybe some on Vinomofo where it's so easy to return stuff. Simon Green (the original My Wine Guy) has long been a member of my Forum as is Bert Werden of Winestar and a few other wine industry people.Do not mention these forums, unless you want employees watching over them. I thought winemakers will normally use it if it's a cool climate Shiraz.I bought 3 bottles of Marron Creek Chardonnay for $5 ($30 before clearance) each at FC. I found they replaced them with far and wide chardonnay which is $15 and only 1.7 rating. They said those wine are already oos. They should inform me rather than put another bad wine into the box. They also refuse to cancel at the counter and said I have to call them to cancel. I was already angry by not calling me and wasting my time.
I just call their number this morning to request to replace chardonnay with the same brand 2 syrah and 1 cab. Even they are not on clearance, the representative happy to issue another order without any trouble.
Over the phone I don't understand what syrah is, usually I just call it shiraz. This is my first time to hear this word.
Cracked done last night - pop n pour. Very tannic on its own - would be much better with food.Anyone opened a bottle of the cellar reserve Sangiovese yet?

They'll be flogging this stuff for years. Been a staple on VM for the last 6 months.JD Secret Wine #483 down from $320 to $49.85 is Yaldara 1847 Grand Pappys Barossa Cabernet Shiraz 2017 (SK96, JH93).
Never tried this wine but everything about it indicates made for Chinese market export.
