Correct.No carpe diem today ?
Correct.No carpe diem today ?
I’ve got some 2018 The Redhead (good but still young) and 2020 Contrarian that I’m yet to try. The Blonde gets good reviews so I thought it was worth a punt vs some of the other deals around in the $30 price range. They've been on my 'to try' list for quite some time. Are you a fan Kev?
How's the Coppermine if you've had it before? Tempted great price. Some sharply priced Grays online VIP deals with free delivery - I got D'Arenberg Cab Sav and Heirloom Barossa.
I had an earlier vintage of Jeanneret "Rank & File" before and never thought I would come across Shiraz that is too big for me. That one will knock your socks off.
Jeanneret ‘Rank & File’ Shiraz 2021 $13.99 RRP $35
Irvine ‘The Estate’ Shiraz 2021 $13.99 RRP $35
Heirloom Barossa Shiraz 2020 $14.99 RRP $40
Brand & Sons ‘Night Owl’ Shiraz Malbec 2021 $16.50 RRP $30
Mazzei No10 Toscana 2019 $18.99 RRP $54
Beresford Estate Cabernet 2021 $19.99 RRP $50
D’Arenberg Ironstone Pressings GSM 2018 $27.50 RRP $78
D’Arenberg Coppermine Road Cabernet 2019 $27.50 RRP $78
I took a punt based on the Huon Hooke Review below. I would say it would need at least another 5 years of the bottle ageing. How's the Coppermine if you've had it before? Tempted great price.
15.5% alc - oof.I had an earlier vintage of Jeanneret "Rank & File" before and never thought I would come across Shiraz that is too big for me. That one will knock your socks off.
Alcohol alone doesn’t scare me. I thought that Warrabilla Parola Durif 2015 was one of the best wines that I had and it is 17% alc.15.5% alc - oof.
They cut the 2016 back to 14.9% and it wasn't the same, others since have been 15.5-16.0%. A regular favourite with some of my Monday Tasting Group most vintages. Thanks for the link, just bought a dozen to share around.Alcohol alone doesn’t scare me. I thought that Warrabilla Parola Durif 2015 was one of the best wines that I had and it is 17% alc.
But Jeanneret RnF is just a massive wine. Unless they moderated the style now.
I think I bought about 10 cases of Cimicky Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 and 2018 for myself and friends and received a call from a broker there offering some wines direct. I asked him to put me on their direct emailing list.BTW, how do you get on the VIP list at Grays?

Yeah, Rank & File is that sort of love/hate wine. Most of my Monday group are not afraid of big alcoholic wines, although many don't buy a lot of them these days.I think I bought about 10 cases of Cimicky Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 and 2018 for myself and friends and received a call from a broker there offering some wines direct. I think I had 2015 Jeanneret. Such polarising wine - some people hated it but some absolutely loved it. I did buy 2016 but stopped after that.
Would be interesting to know what 2021 is like
Far out, just when I thought I wasn't going to get anymore wine this week....Some sharply priced Grays online VIP deals with free delivery - I got D'Arenberg Cab Sav and Heirloom Barossa.

Yeah, it might be required to enter a number but they have no way of ensuring it’s actually your number.often when signing up it's a required field - now I think I'll just put a phone number of the vendor

Wooo! I've managed to resist!! This is a moment... Darenberg was once a total favourite but I haven't super-loved the last few, even when sold with a bit of age, and you can get some very decent plonk for $28 then days.Far out, just when I thought I wasn't going to get anymore wine this week....
