Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Well played all. I might have gone the 6 instead of the 12 had I known this cool trick (which was an impressive find RL). But I expect I'll have mo difficultly find takers for my excess.

I also discovered I could maybe have had them cheaper with the $50 points club voucher I had lying there - if I'd noticed and it would stack...

As for the further 10% mentioned - seems that's points club plus only, not basic PC, which I am.

Fun times, thanks all
$50 Voucher and 10% Staff discount code (have my dirty fingers in that pie too) don't stack (says the code had been applied already when you try).

Someone reported earlier that Points Club 10% discount stacks.

No longer a big heavy bottle or plastic wax capsule. And I think the wine has diminished to match the new packaging.
No doubt coinciding with the handover to Bec Hardy Wines? "In 2015, Bec decided to make her own way in the Australian wine word and founded Bec Hardy Wines. In 2020, she acquired the Pertaringa wine brand from Wines by Geoff Hardy, becoming the first woman in the family to own vineyards and produce her own wine."

Yes, Bec has been reported as being uncomfortable with the $250 prior RRP (selling at $100) and quickly moved to re-position it to the $100 RRP, selling it direct at times for $80 now seemingly selling at $50 or thereabouts at retail. Same for Tipsy Hill Cabernet.

They had a stall at the Sydney Good food and wine show recently and I asked if the price change was here to stay and they said exactly this.

Is $50 justified for the Yeoman and Tipsy Hill?

I had 2018 Yeoman about a month ago and was very impressed with that. I have a bottle of 2019 (no wax sealing on that one unlike 2018). Will try 2019 this coming weekend and will report back.
but that is 5 long days away...
I'm sure the 2021 Yeoman will be sold out by then on the wine collective... (feign sarcasm)

FWIW I have had Tipsy Hill 2019 late last year. It was simply undrinkable. Too lean, sharp and simply just unpleasant. Maybe I came across a bad bottle but it wasn't cork tainted nor oxidised. Yet 2017 Tipsy Hill received 99 JH points ($295RRP). Go figure and thread carefully.

ANGAS KING CLARE VALLEY RESERVE SHIRAZ 2021 - $117 per dozen - ie $9.75 per bottle.
But they require 2 dozen minimum to purchase which I think is a bit rich.

they just texted me that - I don't mind emails but texts are more intrusive
