Hi Mr Elite
In recent months the
2009 Mystery Australian Shiraz has caused a whirlwind of excitement through the Cracka world, albeit in hushed tones and veiled language.
The
icon release from a well-established
household name, which
normally sells for near on $200 a bottle - all wrapped up in its resplendent
wooden box - was certainly something to behold.
Incredibly, the brand new
2010 vintage of the same wine has just landed, and we have managed to secure it at basically the same price for you. Tissue paper covered labels and all.
From the
near perfect 2010 vintage, which many winemakers declared was the best they will ever see in their lifetime, this benchmark wine has already scored a huge
96 points from an international reviewer. With the
2017 James Halliday Wine Companion due out next week, I am confident that it will score even higher on its home turf.

96 Points Leading International Wine Critic
From a single, premium Shiraz region. The fruit is handpicked from near century-old vines, then basket pressed and matured in oak for approximately 18 months. Rich ruby colour in the glass, the distinctive aroma offers powerful black cherry, cinnamon laced dark chocolate, smoky bacon and leather notes. The palate is intense, mouth-filling and textural; thick with concentrated dark berries and spice. The fruit is wrapped in velvety tannins and the length is mesmerising. This is an archetype wine, representing some of the very best drinking that Australia has to offer. Try a bottle now and stash the rest away for another 8 or 10 years.
If there is one wine you buy this year - make it this one. With the potentially high
James Halliday points shortly to be awarded, the chances of this wine being discounted ever again are slim!
