Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Has anyone tried the Biscay road currently available on WM?

Biscay Road McLaren Vale Shiraz 2014 | WineMarket

Plenty of reviews on WM (always taken with a pinch of salt)
One review on Vivino - a 1.5/5
No ratings on CT

Depends if you trust WM customers, but their review of constant 4/5 compared to the distinct lack of reviews elsewhere means its a no deal from me. WM have the whole batch of the wine, and have 118 reviews, call my cynical but I call shenanigans.

Have used my Amex Cracka offer and thanks to prozac, picked up a case of 6 Chateau Tour de Perrigal Bordeaux Superieur 2014 for my wife (who loved Bordeaux reds when we were there in 2011). $130 shipped, minus Amex $20 and referral $25. Given its our wedding anniversary this weekend, hope they arrive in time.

Now onto my Winestar offer *hic*

How long does it take for the winestar vouchers to be delivered roughly?

Yeah it was, couldn't resist another six pack of the Halliday (first growth and others) six pack. Cash rewards too it to $128 delivered. Not quite as cheap as last time but still a cracking deal.
Yep, it's a great pack. Am hoping the provenance of the First Growth is OK, but I guess I'll find out in about 10 years when I open it!

Wynns Michael and John Riddoch available for $92.40 in a 6 pack.

For those wanting some Yarra Yerring wines, you can buy direct from them and get 10% off using the coupon code YYTEN at checkout. Not a huge saving, but one nonetheless.

There's also a deal through Warramate for their 2012 Shiraz dozen at less than half price ($336 down to $150) - just use WW150 at checkout.

Just bought some GMH Red Meritage 2013 from Geoff Hardy/Pertaringa for $70 a dozen - A very nice and smooth midweek quaffer - beats a lot of the recent V/M quaffers

Looks to be great value.

Were I not ridiculously overstocked I'd be buying some. Geoff Hardy is a quality wine maker.

Check out this one. It may be even better value at $58 for the dozen:

Great prices! Thank you. Would have bought more if the shipping was more reasonable for multiple dozens.

The "GMH Winemaker’s Reserve Shiraz 2016" has me intrigued - the 2016 bit scares me, but the "Winemaker's Reserve" bit is interesting. Not seen anything from GMH with this description before (even just for export market - search engines come up with zero too). For $68 delivered took a punt.

Bin 389 just under $50 after wish/cr at Dan Murphys until 8pm..

now $50 at 1st Choice using the $10 voucher

Already bought a case of Diana Madeline and Moss Wood. I thought it's missing a bottle of Grange that's all.

For shiraz, Cape Mentelle is perhaps better value for money - 2011 is considered one of the best and recently seen at 1st Choice :)

Other good 2011 WA wines include Flametree, Howard Park and Woodlands for cabernet and chardonnay, Forest Hill for riesling

Mrs prozac, a couple of friends and myself will be opening a 1985 Grange in about 10 days to celebrate a wedding anniversary. It only scores a 6/10 on Langtons but will be our first so we don't know any better.

What else have you had previously to celebrate? Or maybe we should start a birth/wedding wine thread? :)

Do many people here buy wine rather as an investment then to drink?

If I did then 1990 Three Rivers shiraz would have been my best investment - bought for $40, drunk a few years ago when it was/is selling for $1000+ :)

I bought my wife a glass of brown brothers cordial aka.crouchen moselle on our first date and she loved it.And me. Does that qualify as my best wine investment? Probably cost me one dollar, and the return so far....immeasurable. not too shabby hey.

Oh, I see what you are thinking. No, not a first wedding anniversary. The bottle came part of a wedding gift 26 years ago.
I am not holding great expectations for this wine. It sat in a cool dark cellar most of it's life, but has not been treated quite so well since a move a few years ago. That and the Langtons rating temper my outlook.
