Re: Vinomofo Wine Deals

Looks like free shipping @ Boccaccio on $100 spend as part of Click Frenzy tomorrow, so don't order just yet on the AMEX deal.

Damn that would have been another bottle of 1er!

I bought some Innocent Bystander Pink Moscato @$12/bt with free shipping and split payment with a primary amex and a supplementary amex to get 2x$30 back. I registered the offer on both cards but only got one email back saying I'll get $30 back on one card.

Can anyone confirm that they have been able to get the cash back for part payments on the same order? Wondering if I should ring Amex but that might be a bit cheeky...

The cash back hasn't posted to my account yet, but I made part payments for my order of $62 and $64.30 and received confirmation emails for both of my cards.

Was the supp card separately registered for the deal?

If so, you should get both credits. Don't worry about calling Amex it looks like two separate transactions at their end :)

Couple weeks back Graysonline had a 20% off sale and I looked at both of these wines:

2007 Elderton Command Shiraz and 2005 Grant Burge Meshach

I did not pull trigger as I was a bit concerned about integrity of previous cellaring. I contacted Graysonline and was reassured by first Agent that YES 100% wines come direct from winery and then 2 days later another call from another Agent who could not confirm if wines with a bit of age came from private cellars of from winery direct.

I then checked Grays Wine site and the same 2 wines are listed as being 'Cellared' - SO - I said bugger this - I clicked back onto those 2 wines and both now offering 20% off with code C20ELF so pulled the trigger on both.

How more long do you think the Elderton can be cellared for?

I got a case of the '05 Command from Langtons 2 days ago at $55+ p/b after cash rewards. Just their normal offering, give them a call they might have more if you prefer the '05. I think it's a better vintage in the BV and right in its prime.

I still have 2002 Elderton Command shiraz that's going just great. '07 not the best year, but I would assume that, at a minimum it'd be good drinking in the 10-15 year range (2017-2022)

Edit: FWIW I have '03 (again, not the best year) which is drinking well now, '04s & '05s that are bit young, '06 which is really, really big, and I haven't even dared touch my '10s and '12s

AC - how you rate the 04-06 bottles in terms of quality?

They are all excellent if you like that big, Barossa style. Command is an excellent wine IMHO, and (from memory) the first that introduced me to quality, Barossa shiraz (probably on a QF flight somewhere!), so I have a bit of a soft spot for it. I've put notes for the '05 and '06 that I've tasted this year up on CellarTracker (91 for the '05, and 91 & 93 for the '06)
