Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Hi Steady, What is this $50 voucher you speak of ?? I just saved 4 x $350/$150 to my cards and at the thought of more $$ off :)

Which cards did you get the offer on?

I wonder if worth waiting for discount code from Langton's, considering it's this time of the year...

I received an email last week inviting me to register my interest in using a Langton's broker via a link, and if I did they would speak to me about a $50 discount (sorry - voucher was a bit misleading )

I would assume this is available to anyone who has not used a broker in the past? Calling was an option - 1300 946 347

boomy Plat edge + 3 supp cards

At first it does not show. If you log into desktop version of amex and click on "offers and places" its sometimes does not show. I seem to have to click " offers available for card xx_xx" and extra offers appear.

It seems I miss some of these offers because it does not always load when I log in. Once i hit " offers available for card xx_ " they appear...

Try to use the mobile app, works well for me.

EDIT : took my own advice and now the BWS online spend $50 get $15 appears.. it cannot be coincidence surely

Any suggestions on good buys?
Usually wines are overpriced there.

Steady ..sorry for stalking you... are you referring to the Mount Pleasant Rosehill 2014 here.. I notice they have both '13 and '14.. thought's ? on either vintage

I have not tried either, but there is some good (recent) info in the nice wines thread on the '14.

Seems '14 Hunter valley Shiraz are the go.

cant find anything worthwhile.. its all $10 to $15 more than other retailers.. I doubt I will use it

Individual BWS stores have clearance specials that while often quite random, are worth checking out if you are passing. These special prices combined with the statement credit would be a treat.

I had a winestate magazine about a month ago that had a generic $50 voucher for Langtons (valid till end of year) but it said it was expired/invalid when I tried it.

I've had a quick look, and can see why you are not that interested, CJEMNMAC.

Langton's usually has a much better buy now offering. So my guess is they are targeting the promotions to clear certain lines. Or, more likely, they have hiked the prices in anticipation of the black whatever it is rubbish that's coming. I find that when I speak to my Langton's broker there is a lot more to buy than appears on the website. Often the best buys are not public, to save (winery) face. The best buys are the auctions or the aged buy now options, particularly the premium mystery packs. But there's little in that space.

I think $50 for the MP Rosehill 14 would be my pick. And the Hares Chase 13 at $25 (if I didn't have any, and don't mind a more elegant style of Barossa Red). The Rosehill is in scarce supply and will be a great wine from 5 years on. The Hares Chase is well made and breaks the mould of jammy Warm Climate wines, so it's decent value at $25 (that said, I have spotted a few AFFers who have picked it up for a song, with statement credit and cash back).

With 8% cash back (on the price less the GST) and your statement credit, you should get a good (not ridiculously good) deal.

Hope that helps. Cheers, Wozza

Called and got myself a broker. Send me PM with your details Steady, they said you get something for referring :)

Voucher can only be used on wine case purchases (excludes single bottles, twin packs, 6-packs, Buy 2 Get 1 Free and Click Frenzy offers) and cannot be redeemed on beer, cider or spirits.

Looking at a CM voucher and noticed these conditions. Has anybody used CM vouchers for 2 packs or 6 packs.

CJEMNMAC was talking about the BWS deal...

Also, Langtons seems to be gone from Cashrewards, again...

! Lucky I'm not paid a living for being on top of the important details, ay!!

Gone from Cash Rewards again. I wonder what's going on there. I picked up a $30 cash back the other day through a Langton's purchase. That was the weekend just gone.

Sorry Wozza it was not clear.. It was the BWS offer I was talking about as AC has said.

I agree 100% with your suggestions..7 x MP Rosehill for $200 sounds wonderful.. thanks for sharing your thoughts on this

Following up on my post here, looks like I have to spend $350 at Langtons. Have never used them and doubt I'd need a broker (as I doubt I'll be a regular purchaser from them). As a lover of reds only and having no space in my wine fridges, looking for quaffers (pinot, Cab Sauv, etc), any suggestions?

Quaffers or a bit better? The Iron Scraper @$25 or the MP RoseHill @$50 or.....

a broker will will get you free freight and another $50 off your purchase- you sure you don't want $50 more wine....
