Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Welcome @toney

Good luck in dealing with the Cracka wines nightmare.

Just wanted to give a heads up to other AFF members concerning another site cracka is affiliated with. Its MyBottleShop. !APPROACH WITH CAUTION! Placed an order 13th July that got backordered, so I decided to cancel 3 buisness days later. Staff said all good and emailed me a closed order. Problem is two weeks later and still no refund. Head office phone rings out, and customer 'hotline' gives 'to busy' recorded message more often then not. Emails not replied to. Last two times I had to use chat to get through, today I was told CEO has to approve refund, then got asked if id just like the initial order sent instead. I was also promised twice that someone ("accounts") would contact me by close of buisness, without it ever eventuating. Lodged chargeback via my bank tonight. I should have used paypal for order, but mybottleshop adds fees for paypal use, maybe that should have warned me off.

Thanks Chonka. I didn't realize they were affiliated with cracka, but yes, I found them to be complete clowns the only time I dealt with them.

I placed an order for around $600 of spirits in February. After two weeks of no communication whatsoever, I wrote to cancel.

It took three more mails over two weeks to get any sort of response. They promised to cancel, and then there was no further contact for a month, at which point I did a chargeback via Amex. Which was thankfully processed nice and quickly.

Utter peasants.

Cracka does the wine side of MyBottleShop, I believe the Spirits etc. side is not Cracka.

I've bought spirits there a couple of times (with a big discount code) with no issues, but many of their listings are not in stock (although sometimes they have both In Stock marking and a future availability date shown) and I haven't bought there for a long time, no decent discount codes recently.

As reported on OzBargain($30 Discount on $50 and over Wine Purchase @GraysOnline): $30 Discount on $50 and over wine purchase at GraysOnline

Use this code: WINELOYALTY18

Worked for me. Got the following for $5 a bottle delivered:

Buy Wolf Blass Shiraz / Syrah 2016 | GraysWine Australia

List of wines with free delivery here:

Red Wine - Buy Red Wine Online - GraysWine Australia

Very few wines now with free delivery. Had some Seppelt Chalambar in my cart, but sold out by the time I came home from work (would have worked out to be $12.99/bottle). Got some very cheap Tightrope Walker Rose when it was still $53.94 with free delivery (less $30 voucher) earlier this morning. So worked out to be $3.99/bottle - good summer BBQ drinking.

Voucher is valid until end of August - but seems to be single use per account....can create a second account with different email and credit card.

Yep. You have to act quickly to secure a bargain. Especially when it's been featured on OzBargain.

I grabbed a 1/2 dozen of the 2013 Pirramimma White Label Homestead SV via the auction and code applied worked out to $64 delivered, I'm a happy camper:)

Looks like the code may have temporarily pushed up the auction prices. Without the code this often goes for under $8 delivered. Of course I've also seen people pay a lot more. But all you have to do us wait 24 hrs and try again. There's a core range of pirramimma that's up every day.

That will teach me not to do due diligence, still at roughly a tenner a bottle to Tas I'm not unhappy (still an auction newbie)...

what's hot?

Last time this came up the deal was fantastic, RWT, St Henri, Moet all on offer.

This time there isn't anything on Cellarmasters that is really catching my eye; does anyone else know something I don't?

Might be worth holding the voucher for a while and waiting for something good to appear, but you are rolling the dice.

15% cashrewards for Groupon at the moment

I'm not buying, but I would probably look at Kilikanoon Parable 2015. I have a 6pack in cellar...just havent tried a bottle yet..the 2014 was quite good though..very meaty. Not a lot else there. The Laurance was selling for $150 previously, so hardly a bargain now, and the Wynns at $45/bottle is just crazy. Leconfield or Crampton maybe?

i can't say for sure they will have decent wine from this period but $10 for cooking wine is a good value trade off.
