Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Still not sure how to get the pricing to show that kind of discount, I'm logged on as member, I've tried various combos of botles versus cases and numbers of bottles: for 5 bottles I'm getting $139.95 with a $95.45 discount to come out at $44.50. How do you get it down to those kind of figures quoted above?
A friend of mine reported same issue. Couldn't work out why. Solution: I bought some for him :)

Now I understand, fiddled around with postcodes and as soon as I changed from Newtown (Tas) to Melbourne (QV) the magic figures came up, nothing like being disenfranchised by the big boys ☹

Because this is delivery only can I leave the store set as Melbourne QV and proceed through checkout even if delivery address is Tas?

In case anyone was eyeing off the Star Lane shiraz 2017, my recommendation is to avoid. It's seems on the green side to me, lots of cracked pepper, menthol, chinese herb shop on the nose. It's like drinking sticks and stones. Barely drinkable. Does have length and some attractive raspberry notes on airing. Maybe It will be better tomorrow?

I have some of the Merlot on the way. Not confident now!

I have tried the merlot and ordered another half dozen. Both exhibit what I think was quite a cool ripening season in Beechworth, but the merlot seems to have come through a lot better.

About the vintage, from 2017 Victoria Vintage Report:

- a quite warm January and February but a late veraison because of the cold early spring, meaning most people harvested in March and April, instead of February and early March.

- the weather stayed pretty stable through harvest, meaning physical fruit quality is top notch.

- quite a spread of time of harvest across varieties, so a long stretched out vintage.

- high natural acidity, cooler flavours. Ripe flavours at low baumes. Fruit at 11.5 baume tasting like 12.5 baume.

I think what we will find is that wines from this year will stand out in verticals, for being late and cool against the solid but warmer years of 13, 14, 15, 16.

I can get a 10% off gift card through work also. Terms state you cant use a gift card and also a promo code in the same transaction. Anyone ever used both before? Just trying to figure out if their system smart enough to work this out?
