I'm way over my buying limit for this month (and perhaps the next 6 months!) but I'm interested in the Coopers Vintage beer on page 24. I've purchased a case each of the last 4 years and it's been very interesting to see the characteristics change over that time. Assuming this is the 2015 offering, I'm in for another case again this year.

Recommend others try this. So unusual to have a beer which is designed to cellar.

I went looking for the Cleanskin Sth Island NZ Pinot Noir 2013, that's on Pg 36, but no stock. So I went for a bottle of No51 Barossa Shiraz 2012, a cleanskin, for $10. I tried it last night, decanted, and I found it a decent quaffer for that price. I also tasted the Frontera Chile, Pinot Noir 2013 - 'the best value Pinot Noir under $10' but found it pretty rough.

Some good everyday drinking wines at Dan's right now, mostly matching price of First Choice.

If you like Wynns or St Hallett, worth a look (Wynns will also qualify for the Vintec fridge offer). But DO NOT trust the site - vintages are invariably wrong (in a bad way). I just got half an order with a newer vintage.

Wynns quite literally just released their new vintage in the last week or so which would explain the change...

Ok, quite literally about to release.

Yep, it's a date I know for several reasons:

1) It's a great time to look for marked downs from the previous vintage as they clear the way for the new stock.

2) About 4 years ago they had a competition to promote awareness of this date. The prizes were magnums of 2010 Wynns Black Label Shiraz. About a month after the competition closed I received a phone call telling me that I won a case! They are sitting in my cellar and I'm looking forward to seeing them in 2020.

They called a week ago to offer discounts wine they're trying to clear before the new vintage.

This is actually a Dan Murphy's problem about falsely advertising old vintages when most of their stores and online is actually seller newer vintages.

One of the Wynns on the site said 2012. I got 2013.

One of the St Hallett's said 2013. I got 2014. I looked up comments - people started mentioning getting the newer vintage FIVE weeks ago!

Agree, I've had issues with getting the correct vintage of the cellar release wines. Took them back and made them find what Id ordered.

I won't buy on line from DMs any more for this exact reason.

When it happens to me I just drop off the case at my local Dan's and get either the correct vintage or my money back. Not too much hassle really.
It's also possible to organise pick up from home if more convenient.

They are very good at fixing it.

the last order I did a click and collect and the guy checked all the vintages then got me to check as well.

In my view "fixing it" would be updating the vintage on their website as soon as they hear their warehouse for online orders, or a store (any store) has a newer vintage.

Letting it fester at an old vintage for over a month because maybe a handful of stores still have an older vintage borders on false advertising in my view.

Some of the DM vintage stuff ups, and there have been too many, have been for on line only deals so it's not possible to check before delivery. If I wanted to "click and collect" I would have!

My local DM has been running a clearance table recently & I've been popping in every few days to see what they have on offer. Below are some of what I've got so far.

The Reds, $78.50 for the 6

The Whites, $81.75 for the 7

Think I've got some bargains amongst that lot, so I'm like :D

You do indeed have some bargains. The Leo Buring Riesling i particularly like, although it is mellowing and not near as limey as it was a couple of years ago when i purchased it from epiqure at about $30. Epiqure now has it at $42.99 (gasp).

With their 'current vintage' stock, there is an * which states that vintage may vary, I assume depending on store stock. More critical to get vintage correct for cellar release wines.
