Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

"the usual $70-$75 a bottle for this wine (we Googled, and there is not a soul within the same ballpark as our price) find out what we have is these simple, and irrefutable facts."
"This wine currently lists for $75 at the cellar door, and there isn't a single retailer currently selling it under $70. "
If it is the Giant Steps:
It's $50 direct 2018 Giant Steps TOSQ Vineyard Pinot Noir - 6 pack — Giant Steps Yarra Valley
$45 Qantas Wine Giant Steps Pinot Noir Tosq Vineyard Central Otago 2018

Bit underwhelming (and misleading from description IMO) if it is that but now strongly suspect it must be too.

Tosq does seem to fit at least some of the description. But agree that it doesn’t take much Googling to find it cheaper than $70-75.
Looking at the descriptions, top100 wines etc, Felton Bannockburn is coming up at $75AUD, still looks like best fit to me. I'd buy if it was Mt Difficulty!

Some key words used:
Southern Hemisphere wine maker - not NZ in this case, so most likely Giant Steps.

The information that it's not Felton Road or Rippon comes from Simon Green (My Wine Guy), he can't / won't confirm what it actually is, but has not commented on the Giant Steps latest guess.

Says its an otago pinot in the title though...

Thanks for the updates. The shady behaviour of MWG aside. Does anyone know if it is a decent wine and worth the $35?

This is only the second vintage of this wine, the prior 2017 had some good reviews.
For the 2018, 92 from Huon Hooke, from TWF(GW) 91pts to 2025 In part, “slightly stewed” and “a bit chunky”, not the best descriptors you want for Pinot Noir.

I am starting to feel underwhelmed

The '17 was quite a good wine, I'd be happy to pick up 6 of those at $35 a bottle. No idea about the '18.

However, it's hard to believe it's Giant Steps when it's staring us in the face on their website at $50; I'm skeptical.

The link above is a special listing, the normal listing you see is this at $75:2018 Giant Steps TOSQ Vineyard Pinot Noir — Giant Steps Yarra Valley

But yes, it's not confirmed, however there are no likely other choices for a non-NZ Southern hemisphere maker of a Central Otago Pinot Noir.

If thinking if combining with the code from earlier today make sure it is listed by cashback, 20% is a lot to miss out on.

UPDATE: DO NOT attempt to combine this offer with the BONUS1 code I provided from earlier today. That code ends (on the cashrewards site) at 4.59pm. This promo starts at 5pm. Using the code will mean that you likely will not get the 20% cashback.

'Expires: Feb 17, 2020, 4:59:00 PM
1000 flybuys when you spend $20 using Click & Collect
Coupon:BONUS1'

You can check after 5pm to see if the terms of the offer change.

UPDATE 2: Looks like the terms have now been changed. Good to go ahead and stack this with the code:

'Expires: Feb 23, 2020, 11:59:00 PM
1000 flybuys when you spend $20 using Click & Collect
Coupon:BONUS1K'

UPDATE 3: Confirming my purchase tracked at the full 20% (less GST amount) when using the code BONUS1K.
