Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Confirming my purchase tracked at the full 20% (less GST amount) when using the code BONUS1K.

Same here.

Had few issues with CR tracking lately either taking few days or no tracking at all. This time their email arrived minutes after purchase.

I can't actually find anything for just a 'reserve'? From a search they all seem to indicate the signature reserve is a shiraz, petit verdot, cabernet as well? Example is the bws link below, grays also uses the winery tasting notes for the signature reserve

BWS | Your Local Bottle Shop For Beer, Wine & Spirits

Will see what turns up. Rrp on grays may be fictitious? Or maybe the '14 are the signature. The only reason i can see for using the case for a pic on vivino is if the bottles have no x x
Got the Wilding today, the '13 says reserve red blend, but the '14 states signature reserve winemakers red blend. Quite happy with the '14. Needs a good decant to wake up, nose subdued at first but opens up quite nicely, black fruits. 13.5% but had a little heat on the nose and palette, quite tannic and dry. Medium to full bodied.
a box of the '14 turned up today. I agree with the heat comment but that's probably due to the fact that Aust post left it baking in the sun (28 degrees in Melb today)

This might be worth a try for some. Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Shiraz is showing at $17.30 per bottle at some DM stores.
But if you add 6 to your cart the price doubles...
$17.30 in any six
$207.60 per case of 6
$24.78 per bottle
The trick is to add 5 and then add 1 bottle of a different wine you want to buy.
The vintage delivered will probably be 2017 or 2015, I've had both in 3 deliveries, not one 2016.

This was originally listed as
$17.30 in any six
$207.60 per case of 12
$24.78 per bottle

But when you ordered a case only a 6-pack arrived. One of my subscribers was offered a refund instead of the extra 6, I managed to get the extra 6 by showing a printout of the listing with the dozen price.

My delivery arrived today - 3 bottles of the 2015 and 2 of the 2017. Have you tried either of them yet?

Yes, I've received and tried them both, the 2017 is quite a bit better than 2015, a bigger/better example of the Frankland River style, but the 2015 is still a very decent wine for $17.30 and some of what I bought will go into quaffer packs for friends or for mid-week drinking over the next few years. The 2015 score 95 pts in 2017 from Jane Faulkner for Wine Companion. The 2017 vintage of this wine won the Trevor Mast Trophy for Best Shiraz at the 2019 Royal Melbourne Wine Awards.

I've yet to see anyone getting the 2016 vintage as listed in the DM blurb.

Thanks for the info. I also picked up a 2018 Ringbolt cab sav for $20... opened it tonight, and it's pretty impressive for such a young wine.

Sorry if I have missed these two if they have already been discussed, but was wanting any opinions on these two Dans under-wraps that I have identified:

https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_MYSTERY122/under-wraps-south-australian-merlot-2015 - this is Ruckus The Q .

https://www.danmurphys.com.au/produ...wraps-west-australian-cabernet-sauvignon-2017 - this Rockcliffe Third Reef.

Any opinions? Worth trying a couple for the under-wraps price?
The Third Reef is $30 direct from the winery so maybe not such a good deal.

Interesting though. The winery has the same exact description for their “single site” shiraz and lists it at $60. Dans has the non-special price as $42.80

$11.90 Member offer for the Under Wraps is a sizeable discount...
Following the link for me goes to a wine that is $17.90

Yeah, the amazing crazy AI system at DM randomly assigns prices to stores. It's $11.90 when My Store set to Belconnen, ACT - when logged-in.

Member Offer
$11.90 per bottle
$28.50 in any six
$342.00 per case of 12
$29.99 per bottle

Showing as $11.90 for me (via delivery). Seems a very good discount.

I think I will dare to try a couple of bottles.

For the record, I picked up a bottle of the Ruckus The Q from my local Dans this evening in a "spur of the moment thing"- and have thoroughly enjoyed. (They had it for pickup even as the under-wraps thing) I am not saying this is the greatest wine ever, but I really think it was a nice tipple. Merlot is something that in my humble and very non-expert opinion has been done very badly in Australia until recently. It has, with some reason due to the local offerrings, become a varietal that is scorned by many. Perhaps the same way as tempranillo has - due to the latter being offerred here mainly in cheap $10 spanish swill options. Try a Roda 1 and perhaps your perception of Tempranillo will change?

Anyway, am very happy at the Ruckus The Q at that price - still trying to define my opinion of it, but it is positive.

Regarding the Third Reef, yes I know that the Dans prices are different at different outlets. I have studied Dans quite considerably, and sort of understand the dynamics. Essentially there can be local discounts if they have over stock or are discontinuing the line at a local level. But their base or reference price, IMHO, is fairly honest. Probably far more reliable than most other wine outlets... The Third Reef at around $30 is an honest pricing. So the chance to get it for $11.90 is appealing.

Has anyone tried it?

Finewineco has made a mistake on their current spend and save promotion. Purchasing $250 (before discounts) yields both their $20 and $50 discounts, giving $70 off. Not too spectacular, but good pickups on some popular labels, i.e. shaw and smith, cullen, louis roederer etc.

Edit: Fixed :(

The link above is a special listing, the normal listing you see is this at $75:2018 Giant Steps TOSQ Vineyard Pinot Noir — Giant Steps Yarra Valley

But yes, it's not confirmed, however there are no likely other choices for a non-NZ Southern hemisphere maker of a Central Otago Pinot Noir.

Now confirmed as Giant Steps Tosq Pinot Noir 2018.
Also now available at The Wine Collective at the same price but 8.75% Cashrewards

Seems like this is going through a fix, but best deal I could find:

Louis roederer brut NV $35.79 P/b

Is this fixed? I added $250 to my card, but only $20 came off...or do I need a code? cheers

I believe you need $270 to activate the discount after $20 comes off. Have to play around with the cart a bit.

Edit: it has been fixed :(
Thanks for your post - I managed to pick up 3 bottles of something I had been watching early this morning after seeing your post - I had to add a cheap bottle to lift up the value, but happy with the price paid
