Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

In that case, some of the “less affluent” location should have a lot more premium wine on clearance? But I found the quite the contrary.

You'd think so, but I found the same thing on a brief search. Can only assume they didn't really stock them in the first place?

The clearance is store specific. BWS is not deleting all their premium wines same as FC and VC didn’t clear all their premium wines during their sales few weeks ago. Some premium wines sell much slower than others. One if the BWS store managers told me most of his customers who spend > $100 on a bottle of red will get Shiraz, hence the large proportion of premium Cab Sav on sale in Brisbane.
That makes perfect sense! Glad I appreciate all fine wines, not tight to a variety 😛

Yes, the drive through in Moorabbin didn't really have much over $30 to start with.

Haven't used DM price match before...the conditions state that you need an original receipt in order to get a price match - does this actually happen, or do they accept photos of receipts?

If so, does anyone in Sydney have a receipt for Diana Madeline and/or Moss Wood that they would mind sending me? Thanks!

Apparently it depends on the store manager on deck as to how strictly the conditions are applied. I've had photos of shelf labels and photos of receipts accepted. One condition that can be a problem is being within 10km of the store being matched.

Screenshot is enough, no need to show physical receipt. Especially in times of Covid people are not expected to carry paper receipts on them.

One important thing to remember when presenting receipt for price match is to make sure it has the date on it. Without a date the store manager will most likely reject or go online to check which either way leads to the same result.

While T&C say store within 10km it’s rarely enforced. I had no issues doing multiple price matches in QLD with VIC receipts. I can offer receipt from Brisbane for the wines you’re after.

25% ShopBack @ Cellarmasters this weekend for those who missed it with Cashrewards on Wednesday or want more

$25 off $200 spend / $60 off $500 spend @ Cellar One - ends 11am AEST Monday - besides past picks, delivered after also $20 referral:
  • Brookland Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (6x Single Bottle NOT 6pk) @ $32.75

Aaarrrgggh! Forgot about the no gift cards BWS rule. Means I’m paying about $22 a bottle for Stefano Lubiana Pinot. Still a great price, but would have been $17-18 with CC.

yes, great price if that's the standard/estate, not Primavera

Do you think online order invoice would work as well?

The only way to know is to go to the store. It varies according to the staff member, the manager on duty and the amount. At my local DM the rule is that they must be able to log into the website and see it online, it must not be clearance and it must be in stock within 10km. Sometimes they call the other store to confirm its there. I got a price match agreed to this week by showing it in my cart in the app at a nearby store, they checked how many km away it was and at first said it had to be within 5km, then said no because it was a clearance, then said ok, just this once...

Dan Murphy won't do the price match unless it is within few days. Anyone has receipt within few days that purchased in Brisbane area?

Is Sons of Eden a good price? It seems the standard, even that price at Nick's

Looks like cellarone are doing referrals again, after the $20 credit you could get 6x Stonier pinot for $109 delivered or a 2014 Petaluma single bottle for $36...

Mollydooker Carnival of Love shiraz is $47 at my local BWS (half their RRP).
Is anyone buying at that price? It's bound to drop soon, wondering what people would consider a "reasonable" price or even a "good" one.

Hi all - might have already been figured, in which case my apologies, but does anyone know what this chap is?

Often with Dan's Mystery wines, you can just search for the text in their description - in this case "Well structured, this is a complex and well balanced wine with fruit at the fore but background oak in support" brings up that result plus another one (Kalleske Moppa) - people taking shortcuts on writing wine descriptions!
