Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Mollydooker Carnival of Love shiraz is $47 at my local BWS (half their RRP).
Is anyone buying at that price? It's bound to drop soon, wondering what people would consider a "reasonable" price or even a "good" one.
BWS won't reduce further than 50%.

Your best bet is to combine with 10% members 6 pack discount + cashback etc.

Often with Dan's Mystery wines, you can just search for the text in their description - in this case "Well structured, this is a complex and well balanced wine with fruit at the fore but background oak in support" brings up that result plus another one (Kalleske Moppa) - people taking shortcuts on writing wine descriptions!
Thanks, and for the tip. Seems Dan's isn't as careful as VM, which can usually be cracked with a few decent sources

Oh thanks. The difficulty is that these are store specific and the online quantity does not always reflect the actual quantity. I'll keep a look out for others.

Mcwilliam Philip Shiraz. Haven’t brought or try young Hunter Shiraz for a while. Any thoughts?

the mountain D is a great drop. Cant say anything for their entry range. I expect as a hunter shiraz you will have to keep it for the best part of the decade.
If you want great hunter shiraz look to fordwich (broke). Margan are the winery to watch in NSW.

Online quantity should reflect store quantity less one bottle.

Thanks. I will pay more attention to Fordwich and Margan.

Would anyone have tried these mystery wines from Koonara ? Im tempted to give them a go. Grabbed the 2013 Angels Peak from VM a few years ago, and it was a ripper. Customer review for both seem positive

Also, i HIGHLY doubt they will ship... but also found this listing at $0 a bottle :D

The rrp.is $40. The 2013 Angel's peak got 95pts from Halliday. They haven't rated as well since but he hasn't yet got to the 2017

I've been working my way through a dozen 2013 Angel's Peak, I remember it was cheap, I think a VM deal. It's drinking beautifully, have had to try hard to keep one left as it's supposed to cellar for a while yet.

Great wine at a great price. Don't wait buddy ... I'd jump in if I saw some. Rarely see that one on special. Big, fruity delicious wine if you don't mind the high alcohol content.

RE; Comments around 'less affluent' areas having a large portion of the high end wines at BWS on clearance.

I was on the Central Coast over the weekend, specifically in the Umina Beach area. If you know the area it has pockets of 'less affluence' so I decided to test the theory. The theory holds true and I have come home from my weekend away with a bunch of Bin 389's for $50/bottle and a bunch of Bin 407's for $60/bottle to tuck in the cellar.

All the stores in the area had plenty of stock of the more premium wines.

Are you saying that in store price is different to the online?

I looked up Umina and the clearance price is not discounted by much.

I was playing around with country NSW, and found alot of discounted wine.

Unfortunately doesn't help me, I wish I had a wine loving friend in NSW to ship to me! 🤣🤣🤣

Picked up a 2014 Henschke Keyneton Euphonium at BWS for $30 this morning.

Pretty happy at that price.

Also got a couple St Hallet - Blockhead shiraz (2017) for $13 each - a solid midweek wine.
