Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I noticed two wines on Dan Murphys Ebay site that must be a price error $179 on the main DM website but description states 12 bottles but priced as 1.

View Point 12 Bottles of 2016 Shiraz Barossa Valley
$14.92+ AU $7.00 postage

Dusty Duke Dusty Duke Shiraz Barossa Valley 12 Bottles of 2016
$14.92+ AU $7.00 postage

Has anyone tried these? I am too scared to pull the trigger and end up with some dud wine. I already have bought way too much of the good stuff.
$14 for 12 is still cheap cooking wine.

I have actually had the View Point - but it was called 'Twiggy Point' through Oak Road Estate (never dealing with them again) and I sent it back. For $22/case I would probably use it as cooking wine or pulling them out for people you don't like :)

Definitely interested to hear of experiences with cellardoor mystery boxes. What's the risk it'll be whites? And what about the $75 vs $125?

Got a 6 pack of 2017 Chalambar for $75 last time. Not bad.
I have no experience with these and don't recall hearing about them on AFF in the past but that may just be my poor memory....

They call them a "mystery case" and the spiel says "mystery mix" and uses descriptions like "includes packs worth up to" + "and receive a selection worth"

Were you expecting a mix last time, or was the wording different and you expected a straight case? do you recall/know what others received?

My strategy was to add 50 cases to my cart and see if they had high stock, which I would assume are the lower end wines available. When there were only a few cases of a box, I purchased that one. No idea if it works given I didn't use this system last time. Will report back on success rate.

Wasn't expecting a mix, thought they would only be producing from original products so more likely to get a straight case. Looks as though there's more stock this time around as it was a pretty quick turnaround for cases to become unavailable.
Wasn't really a follow-up on AFF. No gloating of big wins from the prior iteration from memory.

One a slight tangent, I still haven't received a confirmation email from Shopback after purchasing a dozen reds from CM on the weekend when 40% ShopBack was being advertised, it says "clicked" on their website. I've only used them once before so can't recall whether this is normal, anyone have any insight?

Tracking with shopback is problematic. Lodge a claim if it hasn't tracked within a week. I assume you kept records of everything, including increased cash back offered.

ive had a pretty poor success rate with ShopBack honouring things that haven’t tracked, but it’s worth a shot. CashRewards on the other hand have always been extremely good at helping out with issues.

I know that that ShopBack have something of a reputation for not honouring their promoted cashback and normally deal with CashRewards but I was caught on the fly with this one, I saw it pop up via the forum and jumped on it straightaway making sure I clicked through Shopback and didn't use any coupons etc that might have voided the deal. I guess I'll give it to the end of the week and raise it with them then or do you I think I should do it sooner rather than later?

I jump on them straight away and they have always paid up. Include as many details as possible and refer them to your click history.

Nice strategizing there!

Bought this and the tax invoice states bottle instead of case though the title and description clearly says 12 bottles. Will definitely return and complain if only 1 bottle arrives. Anyone else ordered?

Hey guys - non deal question - its the Wife's 30th this weekend and she loves a good Riesling & Semillon. I have a couple of goodies in the cellar, but am worried it might be too early to open. I have a 2014 Grosset Polish Hill & a 2007 Tyrell's Vat 1. Please let me know if you think either of these would be underdone on potential?

Yes, both wines not hitting potential but the vat 1 should at least be entering its drinking window.
