Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Winestar must have the best logistics of anyone I've dealt with thus far.

Both orders from completion to my doorstep in regional NSW in under 72 hours.
Must be the old St Bernard in them. Secondary education, West Essendon I believe.

Just received a text from Cracka with a $50 discount code. 2013 Yangarra Shiraz for $20/btl post coupon sounds ok, but no rush.

Just secured Wolf Blass Grey Label Cabernet Shiraz for $27.08 per bottle in a 6 pack - and a free bottle of Black label thrown in. Free delivery
Needless to say, I ordered 24

Is that the H6B50 code on OzBargain?

Perhaps not too surprising since I posted their sister company My Wine Guy's equivalent [post=1516542]BDAY50[/post] yesterday which popped up there

Also Langton's have 2013 Lindeman's Pyrus for $33 after Cashrewards

kooyong Massale 2015 Pinot down to around $18 a bottle using the cracks deal, I think that's my choice

Haven't tried much Kooyong before - what's it like? How does it compare to say, Stonier?

My experience has been quite poor with Winery Lane thus far. Placed the order Sept 4th using gift card. Didn't really get any type of confirmation, but saw it took the shipping payment from Paypal. Sent an email on Sept 4th to confirm the order that I placed. After no response or wine received, sent another email Sept 18th asking what's going on. Received an email today with a note that "I just wanted to confirm the order has now been received."

Gee, thanks.

Besides taking a while to receive, I was sent a wrong wine (pinot gris instead of chardonnay) :(

Yes indeed, now that the [post=1495367]2013 Gemtree Uncut Shiraz[/post] has sold out, it's perhaps their best value wine - unless they restock discounted [post=1512425]Lanson[/post], [post=1503925]Moët[/post] or [post=1485384]Moët Rosé[/post] :)

Gemtree restocked :)

ive not tried any Stonier but I had a glass of the Kooyong in a restaurant the other daysnd it was very good indeed at just over $18 a bargain I'd say

Waited and waited on the winestar amex deal. At the 11th hour last night went ahead with:

2 x Bream Creek Pinot Noir 2012
2 x Xanadu Chardonnay 2014
2 x Alkoomi Black Label Shiraz Viognier 2013

Sounds like I have been relatively lucky with my one and only Winery Lane purchase :)

Biting my tongue real hard here. I have issues outstanding awaiting resolution so will stay silent. For now. Things are not going well.

I'm also very unimpressed so far. Have contacted them twice to follow up my order, first via website form and secondly on Thursday via email, and received no reply to either. Starting to wonder if their plan for half-price gift cards was to fulfil only half of the orders. I will give them the benefit of the doubt for just a little while longer before taking it further.

I'm not sure their web form works. They've responded to all my emails within 24 hours (business days - not on weekends). Maybe try another email?

I think they were overwhelmed by the effects of social media with many new customers taking up the offer than they ever drempt possible ;)

Agree - they are totally swamped (given it's just two guys running a store).

It's not just 2 - they've had someone named Chris in customer service. I'm pretty tolerant with technical glitches and whatnot with new sites, but it's harder to forgive poor customer service. That's great that they were responsive to your emails, but looking at some of the other comments, I can see it's not just me that felt frustrated.

Steve did email me the following day after my last communication acknowledging it wasn't good enough on their part, so at least there is awareness where they need to improve.

Well that's encouraging, thanks. I will give them Monday to reply too before pinging them again. I do like to support the little guys, especially when they come up with good offers like that, and I can understand them not having as sophisticated systems as the supermarkets etc. It's just that especially on the first transaction, it's disconcerting when things don't go smoothly - and you hear you're not the only one. I do hope they will get it all under control soon with all orders correctly fulfilled.
