Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

(close your eyes Whining&dining!)

$25 off min. $100 spend at Wine Direct using code XMASCHEER. Until end of Sunday.

Good to use on packs - better bargains to be had on singles if 30% happens soon (maybe Monday based on expiry date of this).

Credit to litoria on OzB: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/282404

If first order, see referral thread on this site for $25 credit.

Too late, see above.........

A good wine is as good as a good whine. There is no difference in paying $10 or $25 for a good bot. The only perception is value. The quality remains.
I'll still be right chuffed if my money buys me some bobby-dazzlers for a 1/4 of RRP one way or the other BF! I must admit the pack approach gives you the opportunity to take a wine for a spin around the block and see whether you can see yourself throwing a dozen down the little red lane, Zonte's Chocolate Factory being a case (no pun intended) in point. I haven't tried any of these beauties before but the subtle hype compared to VM's unabashed exhortations has drawn me in. The Curtis Cavaliere sounds like it has the kind of grunt to get my boat floated and the Lino Ramble Treadlie SGM has already been recommended on this fine forum as being very worthy, I shall report back have no fear!

Kellyville First Choice have nothing of interest. Cleared the last 2 bottles of Grosset PH from there. There's heaps of Arras 2007 left.

Confirming this is as many suggested:

Giant Steps Harrys Monster Cabernet Blend

Interestingly no where on the bottle or for that matter even the box, is either the varietal or the blend make up stated.

On the website it says Cab, Merlot & Petit Verdot, which seems broadly consistent with previous vintages.

I was aware it was a bordeaux blend. That's one of the reasons that I purchased it.

My comment was that none of this information was recorded on the product itself. Which is highly unusual.

First Choice doing some buy one get one free offers in store. Seems offers are store specific and not available on-line. I purchased 2 each of the following;

2009 Maison Champy Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Suchots (Pinot) @ $65
2013 Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier @ $55
2013 Glaetzer Amon-Ra @ $50
2012 Wynns V&A Lane Shiraz @ $29.50
2013 Moss Wood Amys @ $18
2013 Mt Langi Ghiran Cliff Edge Shiraz @ $15

Staff couldn't tell me how long the 2 for 1 deal was running for.
NB. Discount comes off the cheaper bottle so don't stack an expensive bottle with a cheapie!

Someone on OzBargain apparently found 7 bottles of Clonakilla SV in Adelaide

In Melbourne I found a few bottles of [post=1510823]Drappier Grande Sendree 2005[/post] ($90/2=$45/bt) at Northland and several cases of Teusner Joshua 2012 ($29/2=$14.50/bt) at Ashburton

I bought some for about $25pb from Langtons in November 2015, some sort of pre-release deal or a mistaken price, not completely sure.

I like it a lot, true-to-style Eden Valley Shiraz (more red fruits and savoury than Barossa), vastly superior to the regular Heirloom Barossa Shiraz.

Cellarmasters has the 2014 of both for $30/bt before discounts/cashback

Anyone who has not purchased from Langton's in the past could get $50 off via a referral

and you can always pm me for a $50 off $250+ code (as well as a referral) :)

I am about to use my final Amex 150/30 deal on some Single Malt purchases. Are there any codes available for First Choice atm?

That's interesting... no data found on the 2014. Intriguing as the 2015 is released yet there is this gap between '13 and '15. The spiel on the web site however,

"50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot from the Sexton Vineyard, fermented separately...blended Jan ’14 and matured in French oak (40% new) for 18 months. coughfooting with Cabernet and Merlot doesn’t pay off, especially where you have the depth and varietal clarity of the grapes here, the Petit Verdot providing a rock solid bridge between the two varieties."

implicated a 2014 was made. But then, "blended in Jan '14"? a bit early for harvest of '14 vintage especially in the Yarra. Thta may have been the '13 vintage.

What say your bottles, pray tell!
