Mystery VIC152 Victorian Shiraz 2015 @ $14.99 a bottle from Winestar.

I'm confident that this is Seppelt Chalambar. Good price, with free delivery for the dozen. Even better value at around $10 a bottle if you have the current AMEX cashback deal. A wine that will easily cellar for 10 years and more likely go for 20 years.

Mystery VIC152 Victorian Shiraz 2015 - Mystery Wine
Confirmed it's Chalambar.

I knew there was a reason I stopped buying from Cracka:

'Hi Dr Ralph,

Hope that you're well.

I regret to inform you that your recent order for the Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2008 cannot be fulfilled due to an inventory error in our warehouse.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in getting this information out to you. I can assure you it was not our intention to mislead you on this occasion, and I have now passed your details onto our accounts team so that your refund can be processed without delay. Please allow up to 5 business days for the funds to appear in your account.'

Ordered on June 28. So it took them 12 days to work out that they didn't have stock to fulfill my order of just 1 bottle. Seems improbable. Add in the 5 days to process my refund and that's a nice scam to be involved in for gaining access to someone else's money for 17 days.

I hate to play devils advocate, but it could be possible that is was an honest mistake. Without knowing, I am assuming there was some kind of EOFY sale going on with Cracka that made the wine an attractive option. They may have been inundated with orders from the 28th until COB Friday which means that the order may not have been attempted to be packed until the following week, into the new year for which a stocktake would have needed to happen. I don't know what they would have to gain to hold your money for 17 days. That being said, I have heard some sketchy things about Cracka, hence my reluctance to purchase from them, so it is plausible.

What was the deal, if I may ask good Doctor?

Got the same email. Not happy.

I sent them a stern response and got nothing back. They clearly don't care about their customers. I hadn't ordered from them for 3 years because of previous problems like this as well as with delivery. Seems I should have kept them on my banned list.

I received nearly the same, except instead of the 2015 Mataro, I got a 2014 Graciano. I still have a dozen or so of the 2015 Mataro, so thats fine. Wasn't to fussed on the whites, the Food Truck Chardonnay found a use in a Vegeterian Spaghetti
Yeah, won't be doing the Fourth wave thing again, I guess that's the risk of buying blind. 4 average whites and 2 cleanskins, makes the other ones in the pack not such great value.

Thanks for posting the details petertwister, that sounds like really decent value considering the majority of wines on offer are quality drops, cheers W&D....

As an aside they sell the Little Giant Shiraz and Grenache, I've seen them offered on sale at $17.95 elsewhere but wondered if any of our esteemed members have tried them, they look kind of interesting? Little Giant - Online Store
I've had the Little Giant Shiraz. Bought it for $20 in a supermarket for talking value alone at a BYO restaurant, it was acceptable but I wouldn't be going back. I also bought a 975ml Woods Crampton People's Shiraz for $30 - haven't been able to get the bottle open yet (literally)
