Received both of these this week and unfortunately both are going back.

The 2009 was the most disappointing. At 9 years of age the fruit is almost gone and I feel has very little chance of finding balance. All too tannic and bitter for my personal taste. Heaps of power, but unfortunately not refined enough for me.
Worth a try, but it’s a no for me.

I have some but haven’t tried any yet. This is one of AC’s posts from a few months ago

The 2013 is very tannic. 2014 seems much better, and can be had for not much more.

It's a good wine in my view. Great value. Would happily buy more.

But I also think the 2013 Coppermine Rd is good. Was at a 20 person dinner party last night with some wine conisour type guests and this was on offer. All guests said they liked it, but would benefit from another 5 years in the cellar.

Thanks Dr Ralph. I shared a bottle with friends. The comments were it is still too young. Hope it turns out to be really good wine after few years!

Thanks for your question.
I also went to vivino before buying and really was looking forward to the experience.
Expanding a little further, I am not willing to try a second bottle because the wine was so poor. The bottle I shared had obvious flaws. the variation I could not put down to cork taint as it did not express any of the usual cork related characteristics. The cork also appeared to be in good condition.
The only other thing I could suspect to be a cause is heat damage. A wine of 9 years of age could have had a varied journey to my door or to many doors mind you. My order was split between two stores both of Queensland origin. Time could not have fixed what I experienced in my glass but I wish all others a better experience. If I had paid $10 from Vinomofo the wine still would have been going back.
It may be a good wine but not in this instance. Like all ages wines, provenance is king. This feels like it has had 5 years in a shop window.

I have purchased both the Shadrach and the Coppermine Road from DM and for me the Shadrach was superb, very happy with that purchase and as others have said i would also happily buy more at the discounted price. Shame your bottle seemed to be tainted in some way, I am looking to end Dry July with a bang and the Shadrach is on the short list to do so with

As for the Coppermine Rd I wouldn't recommend that to anyone. Calling a high end wine from a quality producer like D'Arenberg a "roughie" i think is a bit harsh but it certainly is very tannic at the moment, hoping a few years rest may help.

sorry to be a copy cat but I also found this and the Grant Burge Shadrach 2009 to be a good wine at the secret deal price. I'm waiting for my second order to arrive. Thanks Dr Ralph for recommending them. Only hope there are more of this type recommendations.

To change tack , I've been off piste (sic) & bought 12x 2012 Watershed Senses Zinfandel thru Gray's <$100 bid. Gosh it's good, probably at the peak, still fruity with some cigar box tones (someday soon, no-one will know that association ) & no discernible tannins, just a little dustiness & no oxidative properties, so cellaring seems trustworthy (winery ?). I bought mine on 22/7 at my 3rd attempt & there seems to be new lots consecutively every 12 hrs or so since then. Jump on board! Edit 2: seems to have run out, sorry
Also they are selling Giesen 6 packs Pinot Noir, Merlot (if you like that sort of thing), Pinot Gris, Chady or Sav B solo or red/white mixes for 10.99 + shipping. Yet to receive, but I've always found them to be good.

I think the Maurice O'sea is the best of the package. The increase in the price of this wine over the last 5 years is staggering.
