Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

and/alternatively BONUS2000 for 2000 Flybuys with $99 spend - ends this Sunday

I don't drink Pinot Noir, but thought this may interest some. Not sure if it's a Gold VIP offer or not.

2019 GIANT STEPS YARRA VALLEY LDR PINOT NOIR SHIRAZ @ $18.99 a bottle

and/alternatively:

I really want to build a website to track all the under wraps or other secret wines just like Wine Deal Tracker on Cellary. It's hard for most people who not often browse this post to find out the mystery wine.

My initial structure of this website:
1. List all mystery wine and the actual wine. Can be categorised by brand, store, grape, red/white/sparkling. can be sorted by price.
2. allow user to post the latest deal,
3. allow user to post their comment, like tasting notes.
4. the purpose of the website is to allow the user to post the deal like ozBargin, but it has more structureed, can easily find your interested category.

If you interested in my idea, and willing to post your deals in a such website rather than forum, please click like to this post.

Why does it have to be 'rather than'?

Why does it have to be 'rather than'?
If people still post in the forum, that means this website isn't really interesting, doesn't pull their attraction. So I won't start it. Let me ask, do you copy the same deal in other websites too? If not that means this forum has the most audience of wine deal.

It doesn't have to be "rather than", because no one see it before. But I want to know whether people has the problem to track the deals.

It could be a useful repository for the data that can gain traction by being linked to by forums such as this, OzBargain etc

Why limit it to "mystery" deals? There are heaps of deals every week that aren't "under wraps" or "black market"? And many more coming soon in the current economic climate.

The problem with this forum is that it's a small section of a much larger community and it doesn't lend itself to having a single thread per individual deal, which is what you need for easy management and searching of the information.

My Forum does pretty much all of that and many other wine-related things as well, but obviously it's a subscription-only site.

Although this is a good price by an excellent producer, 50% off is a bit misleading since their other website sells it for $29.99 2019 Giant Steps Yarra Valley LDR Pinot Noir Shiraz
But $11 off is still a good price and I am very tempted

I don't think it's all that misleading to say "50% off" if it is half the RRP, provided the RRP is accurate, which in this case it basically is - the Giant Steps website has it for $37.50. Also the description goes on to say "Hell, even at the everyday low price of $30, it's still an exceedingly good wine", acknowledging that it can normally be had for $30.

I think it's a good deal and have taken the plunge on a 6 pack - apart from anything else I'm just really curious about this blend, something appeals.

Sorry, but beware that Zoom apparently has/had security and privacy issues, and at least for personal use, Skype's Meet Now is perhaps better - it allows free video group chats without a time limit or needing to setup an account, and creates a unique meeting link that has no expiry, so it can be used again by anyone at anytime to re-join/start the conversation

Depends what you are worried about. People randomly joining in and posting pictures? That was an issue for people that shared the meeting links publicly, now solved by password protecting the meetings. If you use the client and record the meeting, the data in theory can be used for targeted advertising to you in the future. I don’t think there’s much else to be concerned about for a public session focused on tasting wine?

MyWineGuy have a buy one get one free sale on at the moment. Buy 6 bottles from a selected range and get 50% off the final price. Seems to be a reasonable selection available.

Doesn't stack with a referral offer, but still worth utilising if you're a first-time user at MWG as you'll get a $30 voucher to use for a subsequent purchase.

Note that prices in the selection have been bumped up to (probably) full RRP from their previous selling price, so the discount on their prior selling price is actually around 10% in many cases, a few a bit more than that.

Yesterday the Dandelion was $22.99 even once the sale started. Today it is $30.99. They must have originally forgot this one. Personally, I hate it when companies do this. It really must tread a fine line between a "sales technique" and "misleading and deceptive conduct".

Yeah, Simon admitted a mistake on that one, early orders will be honoured. Said he only had a short warning to set up for the sale.

It would be more honest to just offer an extra 10-15-20% on their usual prices like Wine Direct do, anyone with half a brain who follows MWG prices can see what they have done to make it look like an impressive 50% off.

Still there are some quite good deals there.

These kind of sales are not for us or your subscribers who will make sure to double check the value. There are many people out there who enjoy drinking decent wine but don’t bother checking across multiple websites.

The logic behind 1+1 sale instead of 50% off is to sell more of that product at similar price and this is what MWG did. Many of those wines can still be found on TWC close to their original discount so they are not really making an effort to hide it.

Let’s face it, we get ripped off every day without knowing it because we can’t be experts in everything. At least what MWG did is not complete ripoff, total average price is fair.
