Hi All has anyone here had Shadowfax Macedon Ranges Chardonnay?

I am thinking about getting a dozen from Vivino who are doing it for $25 a bottle + $20 shipping

Thanks.

This was $15 per bottle Vinmofo deal #34087 in April 2020. Keep an eye out as it is a regular black market deal.

Saw 2013 Sensi Barolo for $30 at Vintage Cellars in Melbourne, down from $95 apparently. Forgot to take a screenshot

thanks - available online - also at first choice to possibly price match

Hi Cruiser, following my discussions with VC store manager, she said that the WB Platinum is not a deleted line, and therefore can be reordered.

If the barcode is blank on the ticket or 'faded' then it is a deleted line.

The VC store manager basically said, she made a reorder as the barcode wasn't blanked out on the ticket and it came through.

so who's asked to reorder Standish, Mount Mary, Lustau Pedro Ximenez San Emilio, Handpicked Regional Selections Pinot Noir 2018, JM Seleque Solessence 7 Villages, Octavius?

and has anyone tried price-matching at Dan's?

I noticed my ebay DM orders are comg via auspost with redirect available, finding most are doing this as per contactless delivery. Might be worth setting up a parcel collect in the allowed state and redirecting (pretty sure email, phone need to match at ebay and aus post accounts to allow redirect too)

there are still deliveries via Endeavour, so need to call Dan's after placing order to request AusPost - as the (parcel collect) delivery address is registered to your MyPost account, redirection via the AusPost website should always be possible, even with a different email address to your eBay or Dan's account

Hi guys I am trying to find a special wine for my fathers 70th this year. This is not a man who is lacking in good quality wine.

Any recommendations or things outside the box - was trying to find a 1950 Para port - but that is almost impossible - with only 100 ml options for lots of money (rip-off).

was thinking maybe the Bass Philips premium Pinot Noir. has anyone had this? is it worth it?

Any other tips?

Thanks.

1950 vintage armagnac:

Never tried it.

System says there are over 70 bottles at Ascot Vale and just 6 bottles at Glen Waverley if anyone is nearby and wants to try c+c instead of delivery? Doesn't appear to be stock anywhere else (VIC).

Tried Glen but not available - it seems only for delivery only.

Is Peter Lehmann Stonewell shiraz at $64.40 a good buy? My local BWS has it at that price. It was $69 when I was looking recently.
Might wait and see if there is an upcoming 20 or 25% off a mixed 6.. or other promo

A few more VC deals to add.
2012 Wynns V&A lane shiraz $19.99. I bought all they had.
2014 WB Plat $59.99 - was still a lot left at paddington
2016 Deep Woods Single Vineyard Cabernet Malbec - $10 best deal of the lot in my opinion.
some burgundys
a 2009 1er cru vosne romanee (drank saturday night forgot the producer- not one I knew) $80 I wish they had more.
2014 Leroy Bourgogne Blanc $60. Always wanted to try Leroy so this was a good chance.

@YosemiteP - do you have a copy of your receipt? Will see if my local VC will price match - Deep Woods unbelievable value at that price!

has anyone had luck with the price match at first choice? I am trying to get the Sensi Barolo matched - but because it doesn't say it is available on the website, they are being dodgy.

its says its available at a couple of my local VC stores (Melbourne). Just set it to that store and then show them (or someone else if they are not playing ball)

1950 vintage armagnac:

I have tried price matching at Dans, i was interrogated by two staff members as if i had stolen some alcohol and burnt down the store. Worst experience, and they came up with every excuse not to price match. left empty handed :(

Tried Glen but not available - it seems only for delivery only.

DM seems have reduced some of the member offer including some of the under wraps wines by a few dollars.

I have found a few to be good value - merits Merlot has dropped further to less than $24. Previously around $37, RRP around 59

Thompson Chardonnay the specialist rrp80 dropped to 27

Also black puma pyreness too - also under wraps.

Wish I could fine more of the Pfeiffer Merlot; got it from FC for $10 and it was delicious! And no one seems to have any stock.

Think I worked it out. I would say it is the 2018 GIBSON "THE DIRTMAN" SHIRAZ. Ive always found the Gibson very good wines, but I was hoping this one might have been the Ironscraper 2018... waiting for it to drop somewhere.

2018 Dirtman seems to be getting some very good feedback though.
Is Sensi Barolo that good? Working out if worth hunting down
No idea. Just saw the offer, and on vivino it’s rated pretty highly.

DM are having a EOFY "Sale". Only one that sparked my interest that I haven't seen before was the 2015 Waverley Estate Stubborn Ox Shiraz.
6 for $99 (usually $35 pb at DM).

Only thing I can seem to find for this is a high Vivino rating (4.2), but given there are only 13 reviews I put little faith in that.

Has anyone by chance tried this/other Waverley Estate Wines?

Looks like excess from COVID shutdowns in Asia... I'd steer clear.
