Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

DM seems have reduced some of the member offer including some of the under wraps wines by a few dollars.

I have found a few to be good value - merits Merlot has dropped further to less than $24. Previously around $37, RRP around 59

it was actually $27.23 before being increased to $37 or so

other Merite wines available at Dan's include:

now $28.67 :)

unfortunately free delivery is no longer possible at Dan's unless one still has ShipSmart, which itself is not currently available for new sign-ups :(

HA! Exhibit A.
Makes me feel better about not buying the Cavaliere FC offer. Makes me feel worse about paying $29 for the same wine recently. You live you learn!
I've got some 2015 Cavaliere. Cost me $20 a few years ago. Finished under cork, really nice wine for the price and has aged nicely. Certainly not bad value in my book - easy to pay more for a worse wine.

I know the RRP thing is tricky, but this one is genuinely offered at the full price at some stores and at cellar door. It is a sad business that it's rarely worth buying at cellar doors - you'd think that would be a good way for a winery to reward someone making the trek.

This is a pseudo cellar door for Curtis and some others, this is the Limited release Shiraz @ $20pb Black Market 6 pack Mystery 94 point McLaren Vale Shiraz
Same or next vintage wine at $100pb Black Market Mystery 94 point McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016
Devious? I prefer not to buy from producers who do this.

A few more VC deals to add.
2012 Wynns V&A lane shiraz $19.99. I bought all they had.
2014 WB Plat $59.99 - was still a lot left at paddington
2016 Deep Woods Single Vineyard Cabernet Malbec - $10 best deal of the lot in my opinion.
some burgundys
a 2009 1er cru vosne romanee (drank saturday night forgot the producer- not one I knew) $80 I wish they had more.
2014 Leroy Bourgogne Blanc $60. Always wanted to try Leroy so this was a good chance.
That's unbelievable on the V&A lane. Lovely wine from a great year. Lucky you!

This particular sale is making me worry I'll feel robbed buying anything much at near normal prices once it's all over...

OK, does sound dodgy. But wine does taste pretty good! Maybe I'm not ethical enough...

winery now sold out of the riesling - $21.95 @ myCellars (pm me for free delivery code)

thanks - available online - also at first choice to possibly price match

so who's asked to reorder Standish, Mount Mary, Lustau Pedro Ximenez San Emilio, Handpicked Regional Selections Pinot Noir 2018, JM Seleque Solessence 7 Villages, Octavius?

and has anyone tried price-matching at Dan's?

there are still deliveries via Endeavour, so need to call Dan's after placing order to request AusPost - as the (parcel collect) delivery address is registered to your MyPost account, redirection via the AusPost website should always be possible, even with a different email address to your eBay or Dan's account

1950 vintage armagnac:

I went to my local Dan's and managed a price match on a mount mary quintet & octavius. They didn't have current vintage octavius so I had to settle for a 2012!! Hahahahaha 😁

I figured 4.2 on Vivino with an average price of $105 was worth a shot. Perhaps should have bought more?
I opened a bottle last night. I’m no Barolo drinker but I’ll tell you this much, decant decant decant, it was only showing itself properly at hour three. I opened it way too late, so didn’t get to properly enjoy it. But what I did have it’s a lovely wine. I ended up with 13 bottles and I’m very happy to have these in the cellar for the next 10 years

Though if you're the type of person who likes to buy a dozen and crack one every year to see how it evolves, it would be a great option. A wine that will definitely go the distance and cracking potential. So again with the patience there 😑

Is this normal that Dan's would price match a sale item from another store? How much for the quintets? I'm afraid to try this on

... and do they enforce a time limit on the docket you show as evidence?
