Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Redman 2015 4th Generation Shiraz. $12.50 a bottle.

This offer came via email.

Unclear if this was just a made for China wine that is now a failed export offer. It isn't one that I'm familiar with. Also unclear what the original price on this was. I quite like Redman wines.

I'm definitely looking for Redman Cab Sav! I've seen the Shiraz a few times on discount.

The mystery wines look like they may be Sidewood

Can confirm these are sidewood wines from a cancelled order. The more expensive are from the Mappinga Range and the Cheaper from the Estate Range
Which are the expensive? I wanna be selective these days, I don't drink as much but willing to cellar.

I tried the Ring Bolt 2017 Shiraz from Boozebud on the weekend. Even after a few hours of airing, it still tasted very rough. When I first opened the screw cap, there was a big pop and the inner seal flew out. Is this a sign of bad storage?

I don't know the correct answer but I find that a good percentage of my mid week quaffers that are just stored in the study (which gets pretty warm in summer) often have that aggressive pop on opening with visible vapour coming out the top. So yes, I reckon they've been stored poorly.

Maverick Ahrens' Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

LIke many others on the forum I bought heaps from the Maverick range when VM were promoting them some years ago and for $10-12 (mostly) they were generally very good with some being excellent. The winery was sold if I remember correctly and things went a bit a quiet for a while but then seemed to take off again, didn't really go for them much after that. I had a bottle of the Ahrens' Creek Shiraz sitting in the cellar a few years back and took it to Christmas lunch with friends and was really quite disappointed, I think its RRP was around the $150 mark and I would have to say that I had enjoyed the discounted $12 reds from Maverick far more😐....

I grabbed it through JD, generally theyve never disappointed me with any purchases.

I grabbed even some $12 wine through them and everyone was very impressed, so I would hope these are amazing. Unfortunately, it's very young and probably won't be opened for 10 years 😂

15% off Boozebud ebay (17% for Plus members) with a $50 cap, quite good especially if you stack it with discounted ebay gift cards.

$10 off when you spend $100 or more on line at liquorland. Also 10% shopback atm. Their online wine deals never really excite me, but something like this could be cool for other booze. Spirits or the big cans of coopers pale for example
