Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Yeah, I got the feeling the codes automatically don't track. It's twice now, and normally don't have any issues.

I did one purchase via Cashrewards and another via ShopBack using the codes. Both didn’t track but I did make sure to use 5% GC to back myself (cashback was 5% that time). Even if tracked correctly it would have been a miracle getting paid after using unlisted codes and GC.

Where can we get GC?

Yeah, it was 10% last yesterday. Ohwell ☺️

Picked up my loot from BWS. FWIW Pierro LTcf ended up 2016 vintage that I am happy with.

Both/All 12 Mollydookers were 2017 with an exception of 2 Blue eyed boys that were 2018

Got Mollydooker CoL during previous round of clearance last year, also mixed bag of 2017/18. Still plenty left at full price as well as other top brands that will most likely get discontinued during EOFY.

Picked up Ata Rangi PN the other day, all were 2018.

My GWD case has arrived today. For all the doubters - the lid color matches up with the Signature.

The bottle shape looks very similar to that of the Signature comparing photos.

Under cork so wouldnt be the quaffer which is screw cap.
Please try it out for us mate!! And then quietly report back if you could (in a low-key way that doesn't set anyone off for mentioning this again....)

Had a look at it last night. The father in-law popped the cork so I cant comment on what the cork was like.

I would agree with the NG review on Wine Companion of the 16 The Signature.

"The first impression is that of an ethereal nose: floral scents, bitter chocolate, graphite and iodine. Beguiling. While each of these traits is true to form, they float across the organoleptics like a carpet ride. Segueing to the palate, there is little seemingly heavy about this wine despite its obvious weight and vinosity. The tannins are very finely managed: granular and precise; almost pixelated. The finish, long. A bit tangy but I'll turn a blind eye."

I havent tried The Signature in the past so I dont have anything to compare too.

I'd say it will benefit with another 5 years but very approachable now. Im very happy.

Their wines are good but I find them too alcoholic for my taste - maybe the ones I've had needed a longer decant
According to their website "When we bottle our wine, rather than use additional sulphites to prevent oxidisation, we use nitrogen. We use nitrogen to protect the wine because it’s a flavourless and odourless gas, however when you use nitrogen in winemaking it compresses the flavour and feel – if you think of flavour as a big round ball the nitrogen flattens the back end of the round ball. As soon as you do the Mollydooker Shake it releases the nitrogen and the flavour ‘pops back out’ to it’s full size again."

I am not too sure if it is a gimmick or not, however I suppose if what they say is factual, unless you give it a good shake, it will be closed and restrained, therefore emphasising the level of alcohol in the wine.
