Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

My friend just received the following from Herloom Mystery box

3 x 2021 Pinot Grigio
3 x 2016 (!!!) Sauvignon Blanc
3 x 2020 Touriga
3 x 2018 Tempranillo

Not too impressed with 8yo Sauv Blanc
Ouch, there's those Tomich vibes again (since they pulled the same 'trick'). Heirloom have been conistently good so far, could it be that decently produced 2016 SB is actually okay in 2024?

McWilliams 842 Chardonnay is this Mystery Wine. Purchased this earlier this week.

Six pack price with EOFY15 deal and freight $137.35.

Not a bad little deal.
Thank you- received 6x 842 for that price and as described.

Also, thank you all for the Hunter valley advice. I went to several vineyards for tastings and supplies including Petersons (mount rd) , Briar Ridge, Leogate, Lakes Folly, Hungerford Hill, Mount Pleasant and Wynwood. I will have to wait until next time for pigs Peake, Thomas Allen and more.
I've added young and aged Hunter semillon to the wines I like, the list gets longer and longer...

Anyone know what this might be?

I believe it's the 2022 release of this one, 2017 Barossa Valley Shiraz

This was correct, big heavy bottle with cork so I'm guessing made for export. Can't find any information about it online and also has no label damage so not sure why it's advertised as such. Decent Shiraz at $20 though, probably needs a few more years.

Chambers cellars have 30% off most of their wines when buying 6 or more.
I find their prices totally outrageous, often somehow higher than retail.

E.g. Wynns Black Label cabernet 2021 - they have it at $48 vs $45 direct from Wynns. Many others with the same logic - Yalumba Signature, Keyneton Euphonium etc.

Did you receive 6 or 12 bottles?
The link to Dozen Deals says 6.... but also says $12.50/ bottle 🤔

I purchased one and asked for reds only. I hope I don't get cleanskins
Received Heirloom
3x McLaren Vale Touriga 2021
3x Coonawarra Cab Sav 2017
3x Barossa Shiraz 2019
3x Adelaide Hills Tempranillo 2019

Pretty happy with it - they all seem to retail for $40 a bottle on their website
Now the only issue is how to split it in half between me and a mate!

The lot I received have no capsule, labels are Ok, seal is Diam cork (happy with that). The wine itself is Ok for around $20-$25, a bit astringent now and a little lean in the mid-palate, but should improve with a few years in bottle. That said, even with a $50 off code I'm not rushing back for more.
